FLEXZED Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 hi all i am looking for a new roof to replace the existing roof that the previous owner put a pop up sunroof in. any suggestion on were i could get one, have tried allzparts, and local wreckers any feed back would be great thanks loui Quote
xa1973 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Not sure youll find a replacement, even if you manage to find one it will more than likely have a fair amount of rust in it... Best bet would be to unstitch it and have it repaired............m2cw Quote
C.A.R. Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 You would be very lucky to find a NOS roof panel, Loui - you 'might' find one in the US. The other way is to have an appropriately shaped panel made up to fit in the hole with a 'jogged' edge so that it can be plug welded/short riveted around the putside of the old opening. Quote
zzzzed Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I have the same issue, i Will be doing what lurch has sugested but i will be glueing it in with panel bond and putting a few small tack welds to make sure it dont move Quote
FLEXZED Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 hey guys thanks for the response, problem about shaping a new panel or unstiching mine is mine is very rusted, and require a whole panel i have same new pics in my build post that will show you the extent of the rust on the roof Loui Quote
NZeder Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 You could always do what BenZed had done and bond on FG (in his case carbon fibre) Quote
