Haha no more fuel injection? I sold a set of dellorto's recently for about $900. On average they go from about $800-1200 depending on condition. If you're lucky you might find a set around $600-800.

Cost me around $1100 to put my first set of Dellortos together but my 2nd set cost me less as i knew (sort of) what i was doing the second time around.

heh, nah fuel injection is the bees knees  ;)

At the moment just curious as to the cost. I've seen people turn these into ITB's for an injected setup.

Remember that you not only have the initial purchase price but also the tune price. This can be a lot if you use a tuner and dyno or as small as you like. Personally if i had my time around again I'd go ITB's from efihardware and a Megasquirt system or haltech . Would cost about the same as I have paid for my triples..

Probably not sound as good though  :P

I just can't get enough of that Triples sound. Took the Cold Air Box off today and drove it around for half an hour... Grrrr sounds so much like a twin cam with the 45MM Dellortos. Just Luv it.

I think it's hard to tell the difference between triple carbies and TB's noise wise. Between the 2 I'd think the TB's would be louder due to there being no chokes in the body. Mine are 45mm all the way through to the head. I could be wrong though.. Just have to set up an experiment! anyone have a decibel meter?

My mate got a new set of 45mm Webers in for a custimer around 18 months ago for an Xu-1, cost was about $2500 plus budget around another $1000 or more for manifold, linkages jetting and dyno time. Zed manifolds seem to go for $350 ish new, linkages are around $200-$250 and the last time I had the 1600 rejetted it was $400 for just a few trinkets, nothing big like chokes etc. The other thing to consider if you buy second hand, is they usually need a bit of resto work, new shaft barings, needle and seats, and if they are off a race car, avgas knock's the gaskits etc around. A reco'd or new carb will stay balanced a lot longer than worn out one. As for brand Webers, Delorto's, Solex's etc find out first who's the gun tuner locally, ask what they like working on and have parts/jetting for, it's a waste of time getting a set of carb's if no one within 200 miles can tune it. I was very keen to run triple 48's on my Zed, but ITB's have won out, Webers work out a little cheaper first up (depends on your computer etc) but if you change a cam, head etc later on dyno time and parts are a LOT less for injection. If your planning on doing some racing, check the rules before you buy, for eg if rallying ITB's are fine on the gravel (As long as your not running it as Classic or Historic), but Carb's are needed for Tarmac rallies. Hope this helps?

i was thinking the Itbs would be quieter because of the no chokes. Mainly because it is the restrictions that make the louder sucking noise.

It is in my understanding that with blow off valves the louder a a blow of valve is the less affective. Because it is the restrictions that make the sneeze.

I could be totally wrong though and please correct me if i am
