;D

There a few exhuast threads around but no one really shows any pics what sort of tips they're running at the rear. What do you think looks best and what is tacky etc. Singles, twins out the LHS, twins with one out each side?, a drifter style cannon??

Keen to see yours to get some ideas.

cheers

Ive always like the twin pipes either on the left side or just straight up the middle; I had the latter for all but a day, had to change it because it was just way too loud. Asked the exhaust guys to build it out of 1 3/4" but they decided to use twin 2" pipes. Still looking for a good place that actually listen to what you want...

Another favourite was just the single 2.5" or 3" on the left but for me the do NOT do is the cannon muffler...Just cheapens the car that little bit.

single 2.5 inch straight through.

Slash cut. No chrome tip. I got the exhaust guys to raise it as close as it could go to the chassis

I happen to like raw exhaust style. I know it will go all manky blackstainagey.

mine are nice and subtle from the outside. the tips you see there are the old ones with the new ones looking very much the same except for a 30 degree angle cut.

haha, I have the same set up on my Z dual pipes out the back. It is very loud. I had it tested and it was 119 DB at 4500rpm. Its amazing at 7500rpm, but ears bleed if you go into a tunnel and open it up :).

If you want to sell that set up I'll buy it off you. I had a similar experience when I went to an exhaust shop to get a flange put in so I could unbolt the exhaust to access the gearbox. They did that fine, but in order to put the flange in they put some ridiculous bend in the exhaust and it never sounded quite a clean after that :(.

I agree canon muffler = rice boy lancer look :)

I Know And I Hate having one, P/o Threw it on, its disgraceful >< But one thing that is good is its Set up in 3 Places, - 6 into 1 3inch Extractors, Then goes into 2.5" threw one hotdog, Then joins just before the diff into a Squiggly Bend Threw to the Cannon -ew Yuck xP

So im headed to the exaust place soon to get a Stocky Piece made for the end And also a Straight threw Piece so itll be interchangeable depending on mood/ Situation All this until i can go Twin pipes from Extractors back in Stainless =]

Sorry Gav, I had it modified to become a single system after the diff then I sold the system when I installed the RB engine as that system was to big for a 2.5 liter engine. I'm thinking when my L24 is installed to do the same twin system again! A member in the NDSOC, you may have heard of him Dirk Verslys (I hope that's the right spelling!) has a very sweet twin setup similar to my original twin on his animal of a 240Z that sounds sooo chunky, I would love to replicate that! I do have his number so when it comes time to do the exhaust, I have to see his system and what he has used...I remember it wasn't that loud and sounded great!

Sounds good although I enjoy it being loud. :)

Don't have any pics of under the car yet. I want to get this system redone eventually to suit the new engine I'll be building.

thats awesome. i want exhausts like that on my car, i want to make sure i have no back pressure.

I can also climb up there and scrub the back of the exhaust valve.

No chance, the primaries would be too small. ::)

At a minimum, you could check the condition of the exhaust turbine wheel.

i love my JDM mufflers HKS, Apexi, trust/greddy, Blitz just to name a few.. excellent quality and they sound awsome.

pauly mine came of a R33 GTR so same cannon as yours but had 4" piping. i did replace the pipes for 3" stainless but internally its still 4" monster.

i know people dont like the huge mufflers but i do.  i needed straight through high flow and no one does it better than the japs.
