Yes, vac controls all work. When i went for a spin today I found the rear carb was over filling and pouring out. I have swapped with another spare I had and it seems ok for now. Only other prob is it shows plenty of voltage on the gauge but it is not charging the battery. I hate electrics. With a passion.

Nice ride.....

Can you let us know what you find with the electrics, appears to be a common issue, Ive had dramas with this as well, a real pain back tracking through the system..

Cheers

Did you have any dramas fitting those extractors?

I also bought a set and wouldn't even come close to fitting due to no.1 primary fouling on the block vent and it's flange hitting on the thermostat housing.

Two problems with an otherwise nice product was as you say the block vent was one. To fix this i just massaged the pipe with a rubber mallet ;) to get just enough clearance. No dramas with the thermostat housing. BUT they need to change the angle on the face plate where it mounts to the head a couple of deg. as it touches the bottom of the block on primarys 2 and 3.

Had another crack at the carbs today and went back to basics 101. Leaned both mixture nuts right up and wound out 2 turns, car wouldn't run. Went out another 3 flats each carb on the nuts and got it to run, then spent another 30-40 minutes fine tuning and went for a quick blap. Got home and pulled the plugs and all 6 are that close to being a nice even colour and the car drove & pulled nicely all the way to 5500rpm so I shut the shed and came inside it was bloody freezing out there.

Replaced the door seal's yesterday with a product supplied by my fathers business. I was able to do both door's for half the price of other suppliers. I can get this in 100mtr lengths if anyone else is interested. Door now shut with a nice airtight THUD. I haven't done the rear qtr popout windows yet but they use the same seal.

Well I have finally made a start on getting the rear end refurbished and detail it a bit as I go. Lowered King spring going in and will be fitting the Riken rims that I got off eBay for a bargain.

Looking good mate. I am definitely interested in the rubber material for the door (2+2) and rear window. Let me know how much you want for them.

Wow... I think someone will be busy with the sand blaster at work!!! Shhhhhh!

Yep, sure am. Only got the diff and trailing arms to blast then paint. I have had the apprentice on the job today, he is good at getting in where my hands don't fit.  ;D

Looking good mate, love those wheels. I gotta get around and actually have a gander at your Z. Maybe a chance for another ballarat mini-meet (this time I'll actually come :-[)?

Will get prices and let you know. I did a group buy with similar product on Ozdat for the 1600 and it was half the price of Clark Rubber. Stay tuned.

Have got a price for the pinch weld/door seal. I can get it for $9.00 p/mtr so all you would have to do is tell me how much you want and I can post it off. Postage cost will vary.

10 mts will do both doors and both rear hatch windows or 7.5 for just the doors, BUT you should measure yourself first to be sure to be sure.

Cheers Simon.

And i forgot to add that the springs are all in the car and the wet legs have been redone. Ride hight is perfect dropping it 30mm all round. I am waiting for the tyres to turn up for the rims before I post a finished pics.

Cheers mate,

I'll measure the doors tonight and get back to you.

To all the Brisbane/south east queensland people, send me a PM if you want a set of seals and I'll order you a set to. Just pay me when they come (well unless I get inundated with people).

Got a quick pic today when i went for a spin. Will have to get some decent shots tho. Very happy with how the wheels sit under the gaurds but i need to roll the front lip just a tad.

What a difference!

How does it drive now, Simon?

Drives great. Doesn't skip into the lane of oncoming traffic now  :o. The auto trans fluid in the wet legs combined with the King springs work well together. I have only done a string line alignment atm, but i am usually only a mm or 2 out.
