fufu: For now, the plan is to get her cleaned up and ready for the road. I am looking at upgrading the seatbelts to something a bit safer than the lap-sashes, but other than that, I am only concerned about getting it registered and drivable for now.

Lurch: Thanks :) Hopefully I am not going to annoy you too much by asking lots of (silly) questions. I'll be relying on your expertise (as well as many other people here)

Zeddophile: I am not sure about the engine's (internal) specifications. For now, all I know is that it's an L24, and it has triple webbers on it. I have a matching strut brace for the rear as well. They might be for sale in the future. Keep your eyes on the FS section.

Looks like a great start, anticipating what you will do with it :).

Not a major update. I spent the last couple of hours empty the car of all the junk inside (carpet laying loose behind the seats, a million and one bolts, nuts, washers, cans of various types, from paint, oil, and a half drank bottle of V)

I moved onto vaccuming (didn't make a huge difference, but made me feel a little better I guess). Tomorrow I will give the interior surface a good wipe down with cloth and some warm water (don't worry I won't soak the interior)

The current issues I am worried about are:

* Passenger side window:

It's currently misaligned, so that when I wind the window all the way up, there's a gap of about 5 cm at the B-pillar. I have pulled the door trim off, and tried to figure out a way of accessing the glass and how it's mounted, hoping I could adjust it, but I can't see how, as the outer and inner door skins are welded together (well, they look like it). Not sure what to do. I'll have another look at it tomorrow.

* Mounting the Seats

The bolts that hold the seat rails onto the chassis seem to be a little rooted. Plus, accessing under the seat once it's in position ready to be bolted in is a b*tch.

* Installing new seat belts

I am going to get some new seat belts for this car. The 1973 sash belts don't look like they'll help me much if I ever end up in mischief. I'll be shopping around for these later this week, to see what's available.

* Remove and re-install Suspension

I will remove the suspension sometime later next week, and adjust the car's height so it's in it's proper position (at the moment, there's "washers" between the chassis and the strut tops, which make the car heigher than factory height). This was done by another owner. Once this is done, I hope I can take the car for an alignment and check and make sure everything is okay.

Some of you are probably rolling your eyes at my "new to old car ownership" thoughts. It's okay, I am sure I'll look back at this and do the same :) Right now, I am a mixture of the following two feelings: "how the heck did I ever think I could do all this by myself" and "I can't wait until the car's finished so I can take it for a ride"

If there's anyone in the Liverpool area who's handy with tools, has knowledge of Zeds, and is willing to help me out with some of the above tasks, I'd be greatful. Either way, I'll be tackling some of the above issues next week  ;D
