Agno Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Hi All, I'm looking to redo the sound deadening in my 260Z and stumbled across this post from Gav in a build thread: 15 hours ago, gav240z said: And when you want new sound deadening... This guy sells it. Cut like OEM. https://www.stuffharrydoes.com/online-store That kit looks like exactly what I want because I was hoping to avoid the shiny dynamat type stuff and it's well priced (even factoring in the exchange rate) for something I don't need to spend hours cutting myself. Is there any major difference in LHD vs RHD and 240Z vs 260Z floors that would make this not work? My car is a 1975 260Z for comparison. Quote
AndBir Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Instead of the stick on sound deadening have you considered this option as a replacement for the deadener and the jute matting? https://www.carbuilders.com.au/mass-noise-liner-floormat You can then put the carpet over the top of this. The floor pans are different on 260z vs 240z and therefore the sound deadening material will be a different pattern. I'm not sure if he offers the later style? There is a couple of guys in Europe who do excellent high end restorations and may be able to help re: 260z patterns as they had made up their own material in the original style from memory I'll see if I can find a link (Chris who does the 240z reproduction fuel tanks is 1 of them).
