it finaly has the looks to go with the power ;D. the new carbies are by far the best investment i have put into my zed, the carbs are out of tune but man it actuly scares the crap out of me now how much more powerful it is. i cant wait till i get them tuned properly. as for the 17x10 there going on asap, it has to have shoes to match the cloths now. im hoping that it all comes up sweet after the second buff as i missed a couple of spots. well thats it for now more pics to come in the following days.

I`m just a few weeks behind your progress and mine is very red too...Ford Monza was mentioned. But my problem is one you have probably overcome....how do you get the dumb trims back on the gutters above the doors? I keep bending and snapping the small spring clips so the technique is no good and I need to find some new clips now. Any ideas?...I might post a topic too on this.

yeah the gutter moulding is pain.

(use grease or wd40 i used lip balm LOL ran out of the other stuff)

i found starting from the bottom than work towards the back worked fine.

start from an angle align approx like it will fit the gutter but dont clip.

the long straight piece should be lifted so the the shorter a piller bit just slips over the gutter.

than carefully twist the long bit towards the roof with slight twist on it.

similar as u would do the shorter a piller. when u have the channel just resting on the gutter lip slightly push the whole moulding little bit lower.

u feel where it wont slide anymore. than wipe the slipery stuff off and shove your fingers in the gutter and try to twist the hole moulding over the gutter.

it just snaps into place.

well thats what worked with me.

also mask the painted areas incase u slip and put a nice deep scratch on your new paintwork.

Well it does sound easy like the restoration book says but I am finding it difficult. i will try the grease/wd40 suggestion next but still have the problem of about 6 clips busted up. Any sites in the US likely to carry new stock?

I attached a pic of the damn clip next to the chrome strip for ref

Thanks
