what is the scene out there regarding getting a 240z (or other) model. saw this on another forum and it was about 1/10 and 1/24 scale model cars. these are from a company called option D and they look really good. i didnt see them in the shop here and maybe they are not available in australia. but they were a popular purchase for the guys on an english Z site.

 

there are a variety of colours, although some folks spray them to match their own vehicle exactly.

kmart/bigW and toyrs r us should have them, but have only seen orange with a black bonnet and BRE style ones. i've pulled one apart and painted it (display pic/avatar car), was a bit of fun as a homework distraction!

 

kyosho have a nice 1:18 scale 240zg, it costs a fair bit more but the quality is quite different!

 

i have another cheap 1:18 scale 240z which came off ebay, its nothing all that special, but is green/beige so is kind of like a miniture version of my car, although both colours are not exactly correct and its LHD lol

Burchalls in Launceston Tas has these for $45.... white and orange... these models also have a RB engine and other mods.

 

If you are looking at originality, the Kyosho models are the best and most detailed I have seen, they also come with a high price tag.

Guys he's from Dublin, Toys r us, kmart, big W, Tas (Tasmania) and Launceston (in Tasmania) well he probably doesn't know where all that is, no offence Ozzy.

 

eBay is probably your best bet for those models. I've got one its ok, but depends if you want original  looking car or modded one like those above.

i got few of these.

 

i got white one and red one. both with Sr20det engines 

 

i got one of ebay for about 35 posted and Kmart had them on special for 24. also toysR us for the OZ peeps. but they havent been in stores for a while now.

 

Also got road signuatrure 1:18 1970 ser1 and sunstar (or something like that) (72 240z)

 

i preffer the later one as it better quality and lot more details. (i was also bored with it added the side stripes and 17" rims.

opps! i bought a couple of the jada ones off ebay before i saw them in stores here, along with my cheaper normal 240z model made by "road signiture" from what it says on the bottom

@gav240z: ah no worries, i just thought since my search didnt reveal anything on this site id put up a post to raise awareness of them. ill prob go through ebay myself. but keep putting up australian links for yourselves.

we must spread this information far and wide, for no Zed hed shall be without miniature automobile!

I used to sell EBBRO collector scale models. Along with Kyosho they are the best quality for 1:43 scale JDM cars. Some of the  earlier Ebbro models have become very collectable because they were limited run where is now they are not. Ebbro's Premium 1:24 scale are pricey but very precise.

 

Popular Datsun/Nissan Ebbro models were the 1200 utes & coupes, the 4 door 1600's were best sellers. Early Skyline GTR's as well.  Surprisingly the S30's were not as popular. Other JDM models included early Celica's, and R100, RX3's.
