ol_skl_jp Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 im looking at some rims, they have abit of surface rust *said in post* but dont know for sure. I just want to know if i can get these puppies looking like new with my trusty tube of autosol or will it need to be professionally done. Dont know if there are any scratches and how deep they would be, im really taking a gamble as they are coming from overseas. 4x114.3 14x6.5J with 2.25 inch lip, offset 10 (Front) 14x7J with 2.50 inch lip, offset 6 (Rear) i also think the widths are too small, was looking at more 7 for the front and 7.5 or 8 for the rear. Hunter Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 They look nice. I don't think it costs that much to polish them up, Andrew Morris Mags in Tassie does wheels for $50 each and with brand new results. Quote
benny Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 not wide enough man... if your gonna spend the money you may aswell get what you want not something your unsure about... Ben Quote
modular9 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 i think they look hawt. About the only thing is the balloon tyres you are going to need to keep the right rolling diameter. With the right offset they will fill the guards nicely. Quote
ol_skl_jp Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 There a bargain aswell (well i think so anyway), been on the 86 forums trying to find some ssr's or work mesh's For a pair of mesh's the asking price is around $800, these are $480 from memory for a set. There coming from Canada and the guy quoted me 100$ per wheel, just trying to find a cheaper way of bringing these down, if anyone can help or knows of a good cheap courier (if they exist) please let me know. [quote not wide enough man... if your gonna spend the money you may aswell get what you want not something your unsure about... Ben what i really want is a set of work meisters to much $$$ and dont know if they will look alright without the flares, front bar and rear lip... Quote
benny Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 i think mayhem has them on his car theyre pretty sweet i wanted the same style rota make a design almost the same but you would need spacers as the lowest offset in that type is +20 or something if the rims are cheap enough and your guaranteed to get your money back if you sold them again if you didn't like then i guess its alrite.. your call though.. Toecutter Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 hmmm...14"!? I reckon the original hub caps would look better if you're gonna go with 14" rims. I've always thought it would look pretty cool to get some steelies made up that are as wide as possible ie 8 or 8.5" at the rear with some dish that could take the original hubcaps with nice wide tyres all tucked under a lowered guard. Something different. Sulio Quote
JP240z Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Dont forget your rear guards have been rolled, thats why your currents wheels don't fill it out enough.. Ive got a set of 12 slotters that were on the car, they were what the guards were rollled to fit.. fills it out nicely.. Quote
Toecutter Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Why don't you just get the Rota RB's or RB-R soon to be released. Around $900 ish delievered to your door in 16 and 17" and available in the fat ZG configuration also ie 8.5x17 or 9x17 fo rthe front and 9.5x17 for the back for less than $1000!? BenZed Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I have a bunch of old-school JDM wheels for Datsuns etc coming in late next month. I'll put them in the classifieds section when they arrive. Here are a couple of pairs for example. I have a set of Volk mesh just like you're looking at in 14x6.5 +8 front and 14x7 +13 rear for $450 landed. The Gold Enkeis are 14x7 +10 offset, $480 set landed. The Hoshinos are 14x6.5 +11 and 14x7.5 -1 for $650. There are lots more, mostly 15s. Quote

I'm not in a position to buy (unless its an offer I can't refuse) right now, but it would be good to know someone who can obtain this stuff. Quote
