Moderators PB260Z Posted June 24, 2018 Moderators Posted June 24, 2018 Hi I am looking to help a mate transport his latest vehicle purchase from Hobart to the mainland (Melb or Sydney) The car is an Elfin MS8 Clubman so it needs fully enclosed transport and also able to cope with very low ground clearance. We can get the car from Melb to Syd so it is the just the Hobart to Melb that is proving troublesome, but a singke solution all the Sydney would be perfect. Do any of you good folk know someone who could provide a solution to this tricky little dilemma ? Obvioulsy happy to pay good money for an appropriate service. Cheers PB Quote
GregTas Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I think if you can get it delivered to the boat and it can be driven on and off then you shouldn't need a trailer on the boat. So perhaps you just need transport to the boat? Quote
RAP260 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) How do people get there cars from the mainland for the targa tasmania?, and vice versa. I've used the Spirit of Tasmania a couple of times. But it's been in a Subaru Forester. Some of the ramp angles on the lower levels are rather steep. Obviously, that Devonport to Melbourne also. Cheers, Rob Edited June 24, 2018 by RAP260 Quote

Moderators PB260Z Posted June 24, 2018 Author Moderators Posted June 24, 2018 Hi Thanks guys. The struggle is that the car has no weather protection, so the car would be fine whilst on the boat, but if there is even a little rain during load or unload it will be a problem . add to that the low clearance and things are looking tricky. Otherwise you could try uship, truckit.net, loadshift, loadbid etc and see what quotes they come up with for enclosed trailer etc. Justin Quote
