Hi,

I'm chasing some half shaft bolts, 16 of with nuts.

I'm also after the diff pinion to tail shaft bolts.

Alternatively if anyone knows of a place to get some suitable bolts with shanks then that would suit me.

I got the inner half shaft bolts from Stew Wilkins a couple years ago. Not sure if the outlets are the same or if he has bolts and washers too.

I know I’ve got some lying around but I can’t think for the life of me where they are at the moment. I’ll have a quick look but my shed is messier than the morning after a phall curry.

Likewise, I am pretty sure I would have some, and possibly in my “bucket” full of used bolts and other small bits. Finding the exact bolts - pretty much impossible.

Thanks for the suggestion. Stewart does have bolts listed, but at $22 per set it gets expensive when you need 5 sets.

I'm hoping someone might have some secondhand sets that would be quite a bit cheaper than that. If not SW is my fall back position.

I’ll have a squiz through the shed Mate, I won’t have the nuts or washers though.

PB, they have a D shaped bolt head to engage with a flat in the half shaft flange and the nuts are slimmer than the normal 14mm across the flats type nuts.

Cheers.

OK, I know the ones.

Will have a dig through the bucket and see if I have any.

An hour or so in the shed and I can’t find the inner shaft bolts but......

Tada, I did find a full set of outers minus spring washers.

PM me your address and I’ll get em off to you.

You never know I might find the inners somewhere one day. ????

Hey PB, as you can see from my post above, I was wrong, the outers are not a D shaped bolt but I think the inners are?

Great effort. Thanks for that. A hour rumaging through the shed is an hour worth paying for.  :)

Hi

I had a look through my old bolts bucket and couldn’t find any of the “D” headed bolt sets.

I would of had some from the 280ZX that I used for the running gear in the bus.

Those bolts are either still in the pinion flange of the diff, or in the tailshaft flange.

I know I have tailshaft somewhere, but couldn’t find it last night.

Will have another look later in the week when I get back home again.

Cheers

Always good to spend the bucks on things like this. Give you piece of mind when hooking down the highway at 150/ opps sorry typo that should be 100KLM.

Yes I'm probably being a bit cheap here. You know how it is when you get to near the end of a big project and starting to running over budget you look for insignificant savings on things that you wouldn't normally have bothered about.

On the up side the halfshafts have always fallen out of my cars at 0 kmhr and it's been the unit joint. Although rear wheels were probably doing 100 :D
