Triptych Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Any receipts to prove rebuild, turbo and what parts were used? Quote
dat2kman Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I'm pretty certain you'll find that is fitted with the L20et exhaust manifold You bought that off a guy called Ben/Benjamin? He owned that around five years ago. Quote
SGR65 Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I've got it. To be frank, it's a mess. However, engine has been dismantled and machined, open to offers for block and head. At present, 1mm overbore and ready to assembly. Head is complete and untouched, ready for rebuild/porting. Turbo, ECU, EFI setup is currently spoken for. Dat2Kman, can you tell me if there's any casting numbers or tell tale signs to tell the difference between an L20 and L28 exhaust manifold? I'll confirm this publically before selling. -Stephen. dat2kman Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 It'll be in the port sizes for the exhaust manifold, the head used on the L20ET motors, a O5L, has rather small ports at head face, and internal passages are about a finger and a half wide. It is still quite usefull, but, they are a bit restrictive. gav240z 1 Quote

dat2kman Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Would it be possible to port the exhaust manifold out to increase flow if it was being used with a P90 head?Having looked at the two, the areas that could do with a bit of Exrtude-Hone treatment, could get a little thin to the exterior, on the L20 mani, these suffer from stress cracking issues, and excessive internal iron removal, will increase this.Plus hanging bigger turbos off them, and working them ( heat cycles) Even the L28 cast turbo mani, can crack. Not overly difficult o re-weld, but its a bit of a task! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 17, 2017 Administrators Posted March 17, 2017 Better off building a custom manifold (that is not of the log sort). Not that hard to find an L28ET manifold in the US. Quote
Andrew_L26 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I was the one who purchased the intake and exhaust manifolds, I can confirm that they are both from a L20 however the exhaust manifold matches the ports on a P90a fairly well. I've done a bit of research and found that it is only the intake ports that are smaller on the L20. This intake (P77) is definitely a fair bit smaller than the ports on the P90a head. I think I'll see if I can get a 280zx non EGR intake and just swap everything onto it. Quote

Is the Head still available? Cheers Doug Quote
