BenZed Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 About 13 years ago my first 240Z ran a 14.3 @94 with a carby turbo L28. My last 240Z ran a 12.5 @112 with a 1JZ-GTE. My new 240Z isn't turbo, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was faster than both of them. Quote

620Z Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Ha Ha. Good topic though. Ben that sounds like some pretty fast Zeds there. Mine has done a 12.9 years ago. Traction is my biggest problem. The new Drive Shaft is going in tomorrow so I hope to get out there again soon and have another go. I used to have a 3.36 diff in but now got a 3.9 so that should also help. One day I would love to get a couple of Drag rims/tyres and have a real go. Ahhh one day. Quote

Apperently Bob Jane T marts owns the site and they dont want to upgrade to ANDRA specifications. Apperently ANDRA was ment to Lease the site and upgrade it but bob jane kinda failed to give them the site where water is situated and wants another lease for them to access water supply. pretty sneaky i say so now long ass court battle and our drag strip is closed it was on ACA the other nite saying that government should step in and get the site redone to reduce the influx of so called "HOON" drivers/racers off the streets. took them a while but this way they get more money by means of fines and defects. as soon as it opens ill be there chasing to get into low 12s Quote

George Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 hi george so what part of 10 secs are we talking just to be precise its a big gap between 10.1 and 10.9 i've only been out once. managed a 10.9 on 30/35 profile rubber at a best of 126mph. mates keep telling me to go back out with a more suitable setting. it's meant to be good for more (aren't they all). i'm not that fussed though. i know it's fast and don't really need the numbers because they cost a lot of money. i'll get there slowly. other things are priority right now. He said it will have to wait till it appears in a local magazine, but after that no problems. Look forward to putting it together. Certainly makes me consider an RB30 / 26 combo in my Z . Quote
