  1. Absolutely awesome shot there! Was that a night shot or day time photo with some photoshoping? Anyways good work
  2. Quote from: GottaBeAbstract on July 07, 2008, 11:33:22 PM Sad to see it go ....................... Well goodluck with the sale Sorry epic fail on my part. I was so use to seeing "197something datsun 240" and thought it was a sale. Still an awesome car though
  3. Absolutely awesome car! Sad to see it go but I'm sure it was fun. Is there a colour these cars dont look good in seriously? Well goodluck with the sale
  4. Found this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240z_W0QQitemZ110267362484QQihZ001QQcategoryZ2030QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting Item number: 110267362484 The price is $17,500 and is under a classified price i.e. no bidding.
  5. Hehehe I'm watching it now, it's that or watch Akira but so into the episode and it's getting late. I'm watching it on youtube, part 4 to episode 11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-JgXsVxaRw&feature=related. That 70's zed film is weird btw "lets do it again at school?" double u, teeee, fffff
  6. Hmmm you could be onto something. I remember seeing that 240Z on the wazregister.com for $4000. I email the seller and asked where the rust and overall condition etc. and he sent me a pdf file with all the images of rust, can post here somehow or might be easier if I email it to you. I guess for $6000 looks good but ignoring the rust and paint issues, to make it driveable i.e fix the 2nd gear synchro and brake problem, would anybody have an estimate?
  7. Congratulations and welcome to the site that makes me wanna buy a Z car partly due to the great community here! *Fake cries*
  8. I think he means CD as coefficient downforce or downforce coefficient which I think has something to do with the cars slipstream, being slippery is good for the cars balance and speed and carries a lower wind resistance. I hope I didn't just talk out of my arse
  9. Sweet bargain! I'm jealous! Sorta real retro hairy chest nolstalgic coolness in that Zed. Those wheels remind me of the old Campagnolo wheels you would find on 70's italian sports cars
  10. Good on ya mate, happy birthday! Love the random dog snap
  11. Ah bugger, didn't read all the posts, car sold, still pretty damn awesome!
  12. Hey guys, in car hunting I stumbled across this 260Z coupe on nissansilvia.com. Looks pretty awesome with glossy paint and muscle car like moulded flares and puts out 210rwkw, very nice! Here's the link: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=232049&hl=datsun -GottaBeAbstract
  13. No but I saw a 240Z or 260Z two seater in Cheltenham this morning approx time 11:00am. It was white and original I think and sounded good driving along, my jaw dropped such a good sunday/monday! The car was near cheltenham train station btw
  14. I was reading the post about stickers and looking for a side on image of a 240Z to possibly come up with a design, sort of like the civic eg6 club: Then I came across this, a V12 240Z! I never heard of an engine conversion like that before! Btw I really love the front end treatment, it looks like an old european car from the 50-60's I forgot what they're called I think an OSCA, sorta looks like an Iso Griffo as well. Here's the link http://ca.geocities.com/dotdotdot@rogers.com/ On a personal note, I will maybe wait one more month for a zed otherwise buy something else because I still haven't got a car, the Barina is a write off, insurance is taking 5 months to pay and I haven't been on the road since that guy ran a red light and hit me 5 months ago!
  15. That Supra and Skyline were built just around the corner from my high school. The Supra makes like 500+ rkw and the skyline runs a 10.4 quarter in full street trim. I remember seeing that Zed at Autosalon a few times as well.
  16. I don't know much about Aus drag zeds but I've seen some video of the RIPS 240Z in New Zealand, they just posted a new video today. RB30+1000HP!
  17. Excellent, I barely have the money for this car but rather have a look if anything than take a pass, especially after I saw this AE86 that was decent yet I couldn't take it for a test drive since the battery was flat. He left the light on needless to say. The only problem is sourcing a gear box. I'll take a look since Rowville I think isn't too far from me
  18. Hmmm, I'm liking this car but I would prefer a manual transmission. Would it be worth it to convert it to manual and would a 240Z transmission be easy and cheap to fit?
  19. It's pretty good, simple which is the best way to go. Just one thing though, I find that the main text (that is to the left of the page) is easier read and more noticeable if it was to be put in the middle. Creates more balance.
  20. Hi there I'm interested in the car but I'm a tad worried about the rust. Overall looks like a pretty decent deal. How much would transport to Melbourne cost? What would it need to get a RWC? Sorry with the questions, I'm looking for my first car, hopefully a Zed, still looking!
  21. Ah Bugger if they were separate I would be very interested! Which is which? Is the white one the Series 1? The red one looks pretty nice but I'm thinking the white zed is pretty good considering it has no rust. So the white zed has an engine and all (not shown in the pics though). Very cool find but annoying that you have to buy both together!
  22. I'm really glad to see this car near completion since i first heard about the project in High Performance Imports and never heard from it again even though it was in Zoom (I searched, couldn't find). Good work Ben, awesome car!
  23. 1 mile = 1.6k so just times whatever MPH your doing by 1.6. Of course you'll need a calculator to do that while driving which probablly more dangerous than actually going a litle over!
  24. If Im not mistaken that user is Ben Ellis who use to be the editor of High Performance Imports. He had 240Z with a 1jzgte that run a quick time and was in the magazines drag record list for japanese street tyred cars some years ago. He then mentioned in his editorial that he purchased a silver 240Z that he was going to modify in a closer japanese retro attitude if you will, use throttle bodies instead of carbs and aim for close to 300bhp. I think I will post in the article section, articles I have seen on 240's in High Performance Imports, as well as Zoom and a few others, all up I think I have about 5+ articles that could be of interest to you guys. Cheers
  25. First upload your pics to a web site like www.photobucket.com. Once uploaded and want to insert in a message the easiest way is to click the 'insert image' button which is the button with a small gold picture frame (above the smileys, 2nd from left, next to the globe picture button thingy). Then this will appear: [/img]. Your uploaded pics on Photobucket will show links underneath them: image code, direct html. I think its them image code link or the one with '(img)' at the start of the link. Copy and paste the link in between the (img). I think on Photobucket the image code link has got the (img) bit already so just copy and paste the link in your reply. I hope that made sense! Hahaha
