Huw Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) Evening all I have a couple of cheeky dings in my zed. One on the rear quarter near the badge (dont know who put it there!) and a towball like one on front bonnet near badge (again, dont know how it got there and unimpressed by whoever backed their tractor into it and drove off). Neither have removed paint so i am wondering if they can be fixed by one of the paintless / hail damage repair spots. Does anyone have experience with these and any recommendations? mossy Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Huw, hard to know without seeing it but the good dent guys are very good. I did a course in Sydney 2 years ago in dent repair and you'd be amazed at the results. I haven't progressed any further as I became a stay at home dad for the last 2 years but looking to start again next year. The dents are usually acessed from behind the panel but if this can't be done glue pulling technique is used although I'm not sure if how that would go on old or non factory paintwork (paint may get pulled off) Try this guy down your way, I've heard good things about his work, http://www.qbdentfree.com.au/ Quote

Huw Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 Thanks, will look into both. Access on the bonnet will be a challenge as it righ above where the bracing is on the front part. Can only ask. Fully restored about 8 years ago with a full respray (time flies) so the paint is generally in good nick. Huw Quote
mossy Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Under bracing will be fine as there are tools that slide under. Quote
andoi Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 my brother had his 2+2 done after a bad hail storm, looked mint for about a year and then started to bubble - i know it's only one example but i wouldnt go that path Quote
FuzzyDropbear Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I had a dent pulled out of my old U12 back in the day. The local guys didn't do a bad job of it, the problem for them was that the dent had squashed one of the creases in the doorskin so they were only able to get it about 80% right, which was ok for the old banger, but I'd do a proper repair on the Z if it had the same dent. But they will be able to tell you how well the end result should come up. Quote
