Hi everyone, I've been looking around the forum for a while now and thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I'm Jon, I have a '71 240Z in OK condition but with enough still to work on to keep me happy. I've had it for about a year and a half now and I'm still very happy with it! I'm not completely new to Datsuns, I had a 260Z 2+2 when i was at uni and my brother has a 1600 that he's restored. I have a few projects that I'm stuck with so I'll be making separate posts about them.

That's me. Nice to be here!

Here's a pic of my 240 with my brother's 1600.

Welcome Jon :)

Hmm, did you buy the car from Adelaide? I believe it was listed on Carsales... The timing fits with my crushed dreams. I was negotiating with the owner of a silver '71 and he wanted to let a local check it out before he accepted my offer which obviously never happened.

The car I recall looked pretty neat without much work required.

Thanks guys. :)

Yep, bought it from Adelaide. The body's been done, it's quite original and basically everything works (even the clock). Just what I was looking for! Sorry George!! :)

I did need some work.

It had British SU's on it, which were running very rich. I've replaced them with 3 screw Hitachi's but I'm having some issues - see my post in the engine section.

The shocks were absolutely stuffed, so i've replaced with with some adjustable Tokico's. Getting them was an absolute saga, they arrived 9 months after I paid for them.

The seats are pretty knackered too, but they'll be fixed up soon enough.

A few other little projects to do, but they were the main ones for now.

Welcome mate. I am not sure if we have met at any of the local car shows. If not I hope we get the chance in future events. Keep an eye out on face book for the Adelaide Datsun club we have an anual gathering later in the year
