I am looking for a couple of doors for my 2 seater 260z

Can swap some 2 + 2 doors complete unrestored.

Also looking for rear hatches ,I have one that requires some repairs however if I can get one in better condition

Would be useful.

Yes I know iam pushing my luck , however I can get them in from the states

But I would rather get them here or the extreme option is to modify a set of 2+2 doors

Wouldn't freight from the US be a killer ?

I have a pair with all glass and hardware and frame. No rust, one has a new skin fitted. Was sandblasted and rust repaired where needed. painted inside and out with POR-15. One door is in primer, the other is black as supplied by rare spares. The one with the rare spares door skin may need abit of final fettling, but otherwise 2 good doors.

I'm looking at $800 for pair as it cost me that a few years ago.

I think I paid more than $800 to restore 1 side. So sounds like a deal to me.

@Wings you didn't mention what year your 260z is, different years have different latch mechanisms.

I may be interested in a drivers door if Wings isn't and you're willing to separate the doors Tai. Assuming it fits a 74 260 2 seater?

How rusty is your door? From the photos I saw it looked a little beat up, but if it's not rotten you may be able to save the skin you have on it with a skilled panel beater. Otherwise I'd look at a rare spares door skin. Especially if the shell is in good shape. The only reason someone should really go to the effort of sourcing a new door is if the existing 1 has been bent badly (frame is beyond repair) or the shell itself is so rotten that to fix it would be economically unviable.

Door skins are cheap and shouldn't cost much to reskin a solid frame, even if outsourcing the work to someone else. The frames are a bit more tricky...

The frame is in good nick Gav. It's only the skin that needs fixing / replacing.  I thought it might be easier to simply replace the entire door if one was available.

I think it is possible to beat the panel back into shape. There are a few gouges that will need patching up though. I saw your WTB panel beating tools and thought maybe I should give it a go myself  ::)

Only way to learn is give it a go, stuff it up and pay a professional. Simples ;).

In fairness if you end up need a new door skin, you're in the same place you started.
