Hi Guys,

So working on my door last night I was going through a bag of bolts I had labelled and was able to cross reference where stuff goes based on the passenger door (was working on drivers side).

Anyway I noticed with the dove tail bolts I was missing the little serrated washer that goes behind them. As seen in this pic.

Now obviously I could order new ones, but going via eBay and hoping to find the bolts is a pain in the butt, has anyone had luck ordering fasteners like this via Nissan directly. I know there are various bolt kits for say M8 - M12 fasteners etc.. but there are certain fasteners on the S30z that are obviously unique like these for example.

I'm trying to save as many of the OEM ones and neatly package them for potential restoration via plating etc.. but some are obviously going to be missing over the years and being able to order them new might make sense.

So I guess I'm wondering what people's success rate at ordering via Nissan has been?

If you are asking for genuine parts beyond nuts and bolts, it has been quite poor. I have researched and found parts numbers (I must admit these were for my Sports and NOT the Zed) and they did not have many parts at all. I am now looking at buying new parts from suppliers in the States, this I have only just started.

The washers you should be able to buy from a good fastener company...if you struggle there I may be able to check with some of my contacts.

Hi Gav,

those screws may be the same as those which retain the hinges to the rear hatch. You may be able to raid some of them from one of your rear hatches, then get them replated. NOS or OEM Fasteners from eBay US are expensive by the time you get them shipped here.

Cheers :)

They look like chrome finish?

If they are I doubt the originals would have been chrome  , they just look a little too bright??

Original would be cadmium plated a slightly duller grey finish

I'm not so worried about the finish, it's more chasing little bits and pieces all the time. I'd rather be able to order from the 1 place and get replacement fasteners etc.. rather than having to go the eBay route all the time. I'm trying to keep as many of the original fasteners where possible but obviously some are rusted / snap and in this case I'm just missing the washer which I'd rather not start a new thread for each time.

I'll look up the part no's for these, Nissan might just have them or an equivalent part. To be honest I haven't checked, but I figure if the eBay sellers have them, they must be getting them from somewhere else and charging a mark up.

Probably their local fastener supplier!

I think you should firstly take a sample into a local fastener supplier and see if they have them, then consider paying overseas rates. Just my 2 cents worth.

Agreed, do you know of any good fastener suppliers in Sydney?

Quick Google I found these guys...

I wonder how many people would be interested in having OEM fasteners replicated?

So what we need is a list of fasteners and a friendly local supplier.

I found this thread on HybridZ a while ago, which focuses on the fasteners under the car;

http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/98751-suspension-bolts-inventory

The zip file in post #3 is a spreadsheet which gives the details of the fasteners and photos to help identify them.

The diagrams in post #14 are also very useful.

By the way that little lock washer I asked about is part no. 08916-43610 but my search reveals none in stock.

Funny enough that site mentioned earlier here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15682.msg165413.html#msg165413

Comes back with a green light....

By the way on the topic of door fasteners I found someone is producing billet style replacements for the dove tails which always break on early S30z's.

Bit expensive though.
