Hi Guys,

Currently looking to join the "Zed" fold.  Need some help and clarification on pricing.  What would a good example (neat interior and exterior) 260Z 2 + 2 be worth in today's market?  Is the over $10,000 quite common or is that the very upper limit?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

I would expect you could find a tidy 2+2 for about the 6K mark to fit that description but as with all Z's just comes down to how patient you are as the market sometimes sees a bunch come up for sale at the same time which can bring prices down.

I agree with Toecutter, the thing is with the 2+2 it seems that there are plenty of them around, however most are either in a state of disrepair, in the middle of a restoration or gathering dust as a 'one of these days' project cars.  You will have to look hard to find a 'great' 2+2, but they are out there.....I know cause I have one!  good luck.

think of it this way i have a 260z 2+2 and was unable to sell it for $4200 it has a small rust hole in the hatch and 2 holes near the fuel tank ive grinded the sills back and also extreemly little rust, i could just glass it or bog there rust holes are not even the size of 5c coin, but be carful when buying one mine has next to no rust but at one stage suffered hail damage as i have found out from grinding the body back. my advice to you is to find a 2+2 or 2 seater with minimal rust it will be cheaper in the end to replace runing gear than to fix the body of the car and less stressing

youve answered 2 out of 3 yourself..body is excellent, interior is good, what about mechanical ? If mechanical is top-notch , then $9-ish maaaay be ok.

Can you post some pics & let the jury decide !

I have watched the prices nationally in the private maket for about 18 months and you get a very good every day driver for about $5-6.5k (I bought 2). It seems to get a showroom condition one, they are asking $12-15k for a "original spec car". However they do seem to be for sale for quite a while.

There is a blue ground up rebuilt one on carsales.com.au for $10k but that has been there for 18 months.

The nicest looking one on the market at the moment is one on tradingpost.com.au in NSW, but $13k neg

Hi,

Thanks for offering to look at the car.  Appreciate it.  We are working on another one at the moment, so we will see how it pans out.

Thanks for all your feedback guys.  It's been very helpful.
