andyk_79 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Does anyone know where I can track down either the complete T-bar set up, or a kit to replace the pivot point hardware for the shifter in my 240Z ? It has the factory 3 speed auto and the pivot point is shot to poo so select a gear is a bit hit and miss. We've played with adjusting it etc but the pivot is effectively ratcheting when you move the shifter........ A search of the interwebs has not revealed anyone selling repros etc, and I would prefer something OEM rather than something that would requires mod to the shift mechanisms/rods etc Quote
gilltech Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Maybe just take the assembly along to a machine shop & have some new bushes turned up in brass to replace the original plastic bushes which disintegrate & disappear over time. That's what we have to do with the manual shifters. Quote

andyk_79 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 Ended up being the simplest of things! There's a bolt that tightens the T bar shaft on the pivot point...... kinda glad the mechanic hadn't been able to track down a replacement t bar. I took it out, cleaned it up and tightened it and with the shift rod adjusted it is now fine. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted October 27, 2014 Moderators Posted October 27, 2014 Love it when the solution is so simple, and inexpensive. Shame everything isn't like that. Quote
