Mr260z Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Just got my zed on the road and feeling real sluggish compared to my last one. Pretty sure I've got 3.36 ratio diff so I'm after a 3.9 if anyone has one or can point me in the right direction. Quote
Mr260z Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 I have a 3.7 R200. Not much good to you? I think I want a 3.9 or even 4.11 cars not gonna do much highway or track days so don't mind it revving a bit. Always after advice though too. I'm a bit of a novice. Quote
Scoota G Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The difference between the 3.3 and the 3.7 in my Zed (bear in mind that it's V8 C4 Auto) was 15 kph on the highway. Had no trouble chewing up LS1 powered cars with the 3.7 around town. Quote
Mr260z Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Hmmm I'll put more thought into 3.7 could be best of both worlds maybe. Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Try calling SW Motorsport - (02) 4577 2400 - in Syd, Joel. Stewie will have something suitable. Quote
dat240z Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Go a 3.9. I have a 3.7 R200 linked to a RB25det, and in 3rd @ 7000rpm im nearly at 115mph. Quote
Mr260z Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 JUST INSTALL A STI REAR DIFF? Is that easy? What modification are needed and are they easy and relatively cheap to get? Just been offered a r180 3.9? Quote
44014 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Have to get the custom half shaft adapters and transfer the studs on the rear housing from your r180 to the sti diff then they bolt on talk to d3c0y on here ( same avatar ) he just installed one in his with a 4.4 ratio and mechanical lsd for around the $1200 mark Quote

I'm a bit of a novice. Got a 4.1 Limo R200 here, full set of thicker plates and new bearings fitted, comes with Z output shafts and Z pinion flange. ( r200's out of old Skylines dont have all the lsd plates, or the Z outputs, or the correct Z pinion flamge, all that extra stuff costs $$) Quote
