acf321 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Sorry Folks, posted this on the F/S section and wondered why no responses. I need an indicator assembly for the Brown Hornet as the current one is not working, like the one before it. If anyone has, or can lead me to a new blinker switch, i'd be ETERNALLY grateful. Cheers Adam. Quote
skipz Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 there's one on eBay the moment. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-240Z-DIRECTIONAL-BLINKER-SWITCH-IN-NICE-CONDITION-/151297678647?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item233a0b5d37&_uhb=1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 27, 2014 Administrators Posted June 27, 2014 Hey Adam, Actually I'm not sure if what I have is the wiper stalk only or if I have a spare turn signal also. @Skipz - The problem with the US cars is that they are all backwards, so things like wiper and turn signal switches are not on the correct side. gilltech Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Once the supply of worn-out old used RHD parts dries up, then the US-spec 'handed' items might be the only option if they are available repro or NOS. Personally, I don't see a problem with it - Euro-spec cars have the indicators on the left, LHD Mustangs like mine are same way, you soon get used to it, even if it's back-to-front to your everyday driver. Administrators gav240z Posted June 27, 2014 Administrators Posted June 27, 2014 There is always Japan. I found a Wiper switch, not indicator. http://www.buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/r113319187 But it's listed by these guys, could ask them about indicator switch? http://www.speedshopkubo.com/ Quote
Riceburner Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Might be a silly question but wouldn't they work the same..... LHD turn left would be down, then RHD left is up. So, if you loosen you RHD turn signal and rotate it anti clockwise to the LHD side it would work, wouldn't it? Quote

Just found this on that site. http://store.speedshopkubo.com/products/detail.php?product_id=363 About $200 before shipping + tax etc.. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I think it wouldn't need any mods, being on opposite sides of the column everything is reversed as a result. Datsun seemed to be masters of recycling. Quote
Retro Z Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Will a 260z one work? I think i may have one stashed away somewhere Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 9, 2014 Administrators Posted July 9, 2014 Has anyone pulled 1 of these apart before? Probably find you can rebuild them. I've seen a few reconditioned ones floating around on eBay US of A. So it must be possible. Quote
adam Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I haven't reconditioned mine but I have modified it and it's still working to this day without any issues. See here, http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=4102.0 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 13, 2014 Administrators Posted July 13, 2014 hi mate, I found a spare indicator stalk Looking at it, I'd say it would be easy enough to reverse between LHD and RHD. I don't know if this 1 works or not, but if it does we can work something out. Quote
