Hey guys just a quick question regarding the 432 mesh grills. Are they the same size (re dimensions) as the normal bar grills?

The reason I ask is I'm considering fabbing up a 432 copy grill myself but my problem is given I'll be putting on an aftermarket air dam I'm not sure weather to go a full grill or be somewhat period correct and make a proper size one so I'd thought I'd ask and see if any one knew of the dimensions of theses grills and yes I've done some research but still can't find what I'm looking for. So does any one here have a grill or similar mesh grill they could throw a tape over and confirm the size please??

But of a long shot but I'd thought I'd check here first

Cheers

Pretty sure they are same size. Although not specific to the PS30 cars but most S30s sold in the Japanese market.

Thanks guys, that's why i though id ask just some of the angle in pictures can be deceiving. when you do get back to your car Zedeven if you wouldn't mind checking your grills for me that would be tops!

just not waning to make it and be too small or big :/

measuring it would have made sense! My one is pretty rough as you can see from the pics, as it was found randomly at a wrecker on a 2+2 (apparently some of the late ones came stock with it, and theres some discussion of these ones having a different size mesh).

I just visually aligned the mount holes and took these photos. The lower edge of the top bar is roughly inline with the second top bar of the standard grill, and the bottom bar is roughly inline with the the lower mount holes - so it does sit a bit lower than the sttandard grill.

Good pics Evan, as far as I'm aware though no AUDM cars had the mesh grille, only JDM cars. So it must have been retro fitted.

By the way was it center road wreckers? I seem to recall a baby blue 2+2 with a mesh grille in there at some point.

Most JDM spec cars even from the start of production came with the mesh grill as it was the base model grill on the 2.0L Z-L and obviously 432s came with the mesh grill too. Fairlady 240Zs had the slat grille as an up-spec'd part on them and are the hot grill to have in Japan.

Nah it was the 'pick a part' in Ringwood that keeps changing its name - wish I'd grabbed more off it! Someone on here had told me that in the last year of 2+2's they came with this grill, either way I was happy with the find

Thanks guys, those pics are probably better than measurements as i can work it out of the mounting points on where it needs to be extended from the bar grille. looks like you got a pretty good score on your grille Zedevan  :D

this will give me something to tackle over the weekend

once again cheers guys

Matsuo-San said he preferred the slat style grille the export markets received if I'm not mistaken? I seem to recall seeing a video where he mentions not liking the domestic market version as much.

Grass is always greener I suppose. ;)

Typical, some type of super rare motor sport version of the badge and not the common one haha.  :P

I haven't seen the one like yours before, only knew of this one:

Like us putting common cooking model Fairlady Z badges on our cars really. We need to set up a badge & grill exchange program with Japan!
