Buying from US (or anywhere) when they won't send outside of country?

Hi guys,

I spotted a pair of '240z' 1/4 badge emblems - the early style ones for an early 240z. They are original 'metal' badges as opposed to the plastic fantastic ones produced later, and I am keen to buy them - provided they don't get silly monies. They are on eBay US so I messaged seller to see if he would be kind enough to post to AU - given that they are small badges it should be much more hassle, but he has declined to send outside of USA.

In Ireland there was a service called Parcel Motel.

Basically it's a PO BOX for deliveries when you don't have a US based postal address, you send it to this service who then forwards it to your address in your relevant country. Do we have anything similar here?

I could try asking some work friends in the US if they mind me using their address to forward car parts, but as non-car people it's hard for them to 'understand' and therefore they will more than likely get sick of my junk turning up on their doorstep and having to forward it on.

Gav,

Get them sent to me and I can forward them - Im here for another 4 weeks before I return to Aus! Heck, if you can wait I'll just bring them with me and give them to you when I get to Melbourne.

cheers,

Rev

Thanks for the offer Rev, I'll let you know if I win the items - currently watching them.

Good to see you're still around.

PS: I'm in Sydney now, but family is in Melbourne. And no there is no rush on getting these items etc..

Gav, I think I have one metal one, but with the standard thing of missing locating pins...But if you are buying two.. don't worry!

Yeah I'm trying to buy 2, but I think the locating pins might be missing. I can get them new for about $100 USD but I wanted the metal badges.

If it helps, I've used MyUS a few times and they do help to save a lot on shipping.  They will collect a whole lot of parcels and deliveries together (they'll hold for 30days) and then combine them together and send in one box.  If you want you can also have them take things out of boxes and pack the boxes flat into one larger box to save on the volume weight that can make it expensive.  Also because they send a lot, you get really good rates.
