260z door trims Swap or sell

Finally putting my 260z coupe together after 12 years and realised the door trims I got with the car don't fit!

 

These trims fit the later model 260z 2seater, they are black, vinyl is supple and good cond for age.

 

Will swap these for early black 260 trims in similar cond or sell these.

I wasn't aware they were different. Can you post up a picture? Perhaps 240Z ones will fit yours? If so there is a certain fellow not far from you who has a set.

On my car when I first got it, it actually had one 260z door and one (what I thought was) a 240z door. It also stands to reason that there are two variants of a 260z (2 seater) door, one being the >76 280z style?

So perhaps there are early or late model 260z doors, or HKSZ has 240z doors on a 260z chassis, they apparently do fit.

 

Should be able to tell from the difference in structure.

 

HKSZ, do you have a photo of your doors (and interior handles) and the door trim for sale?

Mine is a mid '76 has turn style catch like 240, I guess later has sissor catch.

Stand out differance the early trim lock knob hole is 15cm from end, this one is 22cm

Passenger is fine.

Driver has little damage on card corners, bottom trim looks like a piece has ripped but once the trim is stretched and spray glued It would just about reach

I have noticed my 74 260Z 2+2 body shape looks different to my 75 260Z 2+2 body shape... I have not measured it, but looks a lot closer to my 240z's. Especially in the windscreen height and angle.

 

I do know for sure that there is differences between a 71 240Z and 73 240Z... when swapping engines the tailshafts were different lengths by a few inches... also different gearbox mounts.

Well they look identical as my damaged late model one.

One of the issues with 260Z door cards is the very early 74 cars are in fact 240z shells. Lighter chassis rails etc and the door frames are 240. The locking button and window winder position is 240. There seems to have been about 1000 of these early cars hit Australian shores and account for the early serial numbers. Therefore replacement door cards are pretty thin on the ground!

 

I would also be interested in buying the cards for my project 76 260.

MIKE260LW is correct, the early '74 cars (all 2 seaters, the 2+2 didn't arrive until later in the year) are pretty much the same shell, incl doors & suspension etc, as the '73 or the last of the 240's. Lots of different details to the later 260's, which themselves had various running changes during their manufacturing era. So be careful with buying 260 door cards sight unseen.
