DreamZproject Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hey guys, just posting some images to find out if anyone knows if these are any good. It came with my car and I'll be most likely running them until i can afford a whole new exhaust system. Anyone recognise the brand? Quote
dat2kman Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 PERRY Common as anything, nothing fancy, quite adequate for sprited road use. May need a bit of jiggery-pokery with some washers where it bolts onto the head, as the exh mani flange plate, can be different thickness to the intake mani machined grooves. Dummy assemble, weld up multiple washers, grind of bits of washer, to give a "stepped" washer. Quote
Scoota G Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Yea there's a set of these in the Treasure Cave i found in Ballarat. Generic brand extractors for a mild street engine as quoted above. Quote
luvemfast Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Another generic set, just like the 3 hanging in my garage. Quote
d3c0y Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 They're generic, i've had them before. I just really wanted to raise my post count, reaffirm information etc. This type of thing wouldnt happen if we had more interesting threads to talk about. Quote

Actually if you look a bit closer my reply is a shameless plug for the LARGE amount of parts i found for sale. Simon is also advertising that he has sets if anyone requires them. Quote
d3c0y Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I wasn't having ago, it was a legitimate act of post whoring for me. Gotta get to 2k. Quote
luvemfast Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 If our useful post count were displayed, I'd be up to 10 by now? Quote
DreamZproject Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Lol you guys are hilarious. Yeah, i was a bit bored so i thought I'd just chuck a picture up. Glad i know. Quote
Scoota G Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I wasn't having ago, it was a legitimate act of post whoring for me. Gotta get to 2k. I'm trying to get to "Gav" level Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 5, 2013 Administrators Posted November 5, 2013 Actually speaking of which I would like to add more useful how-to tutorials to the site, but I haven't been working on my Z for almost 6 years now. . So when I do get to it I'll try and post more informative posts that cover some of the most common questions we get etc.. Quote
Scoota G Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 And the winner is....... the guy who wrote a Tutorial :P Ya'll get up on that! Quote
d3c0y Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Sorry Gav, i didnt mean it. It's Scoota's fault honest, he put your name there. You could do a tutorial on installing an alloy air separator tank, or premixing your fuel? Maybe we could write a tutorial on writing tutorials? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 5, 2013 Administrators Posted November 5, 2013 I knew you guys were just messing about. But I've been thinking about a lot of ways to improve the site lately and I realised we don't have enough how to guides for zcar newbies. Anyway getting off topic. I'll start another thread with some ideas to hopefully inject new life into the forum and get some interesting discussions flowing. Quote
d3c0y Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Yes you are right, it would be a good way of stopping the same old questions being asked over and over again. Ones about what size wheels fit and how you work it out would be a good one. That thread is massive because people keep asking the same question lol. Lurch didn't want to make it a sticky for me either You know what I think is lacking from the site at the moment in a big way is technical discussion. It was great when PMC was actively posting and it's the reason i end up going to Hybridz.org so much. To most users here triple webers and a 74 degree cam mean a heavily modified engine. If I have a techy question, I just end up calling Les or Peter direct to get my answer and then the forum misses out on the information. I guess i just need to update my project thread on here. Quote
DreamZproject Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 I'm glad my woefully inane thread could provoke such important discussion! Quote
