As Promised,

I read this post ages ago and roughly drew these up,

only since ive seen it get bumped a few times have i bothered.

Changed the layout a bit, to make it EASY to cut and bend, then weld corners only, mayby whack a tack welded nut on??

hole size for bolt is only 11mm, so clearance for an M10 or tap to M12?

Also the gap between the 2 flanges is an easy 50mm, so check with the rubber bumpers you may already have.

These are strictly the 1st offs and are unwelded, can be if you want????

Ill check fitup tonight when I get to my wk-shop, need to check brake and fuel line clearance....

Make an offer.....

Hey Nat, I have a techno versions style and mine has a cut out on the top drivers side to clear the steel fuel/brake lines. I'm not sure of the dimensions though. Even with this mod it was very hard to fit.

If I had my time over I'd go the SW Motorsport style, so much easier and it uses a bush that is proven to last 40+ yrs.

mmm, yea i agree.

I saw one mod which is the smallest, easiest and simplest bracket I have ever seen.

it was a folded U-bracket with sheet of rubber, and pretty much 2 tek screws/bolts going into the front and back flange of the rubber isolator (diff half)

it went under the front diff x-member and stopped the diff from lifting off, even usable on a broken diff isolator......

I personally think, that often, simple is best, sometimes and I would gladly throw the rt style ones i made in the bin, and then mass produce the above mentioned ones

for others.

Key benefeits:-

-CHEAP did I say they would cost stuff all???

-Easy to fit, No removal of diffs, upper straps, brake/fuel lines etc. ie can fit , whilst car on ramps, or one side up on a gutter.

-Quick to install & remove if req'd

-longevity - rubber sheet will last forever......

Ooops, sorry ti Hijack.

Ill start another Thread.....one day....

PS I wont take any props for the Idea, I just rmember seeing it and said to myself, god thats simple but effective....

So if anyone can ID the the bloke responsible, Ill def pass on any cred.

If anyone has a red energy suspensions mount they want to sell let me know... likewise if anyone has the complete mount they'd like to sell...

Got one if you want it. The red mount that is.

NatO how did the ones you made turn out when fitted to the car? Was the lack of a profile to clear the fuel line an issue?

If they worked out well id be interested in buying one...

Yea, bit of an issue,

I didnt bother with it, as i can make new ones easy as.

one is already gone to scrap, the other i think is on my scrap metal pile, small changes req'd to make them micky mouse....

But ill probly go the other direction, the one i was going to stick with as above mentioned, much smaller, much lighter, much easier to install (and remove)

and just as effective..
