Hey peoples, i topped out my V8 Zed at 170 Kph today with a 3.7 ratio. Wondering if somone has a lower ratio. Peter Mac suggested a 3.2 0r 3.3

Can you get those ratios? ???

Try a 3.5

They are available in both R180 and R200's. what diff you running? Surely R200, with the V8.

dad might have an R200 crown wheel and pinion.

Give some thought to fitting a GM diff. Huge range of ratios and cheap as chips after the initial install. I picked up a 3.07  LSD for $150 off eBay (with CVs)!

what box are you running, what does you v8 rev to? surely you could get more than 170kph out of it

Try a better revving V8  ;)

I've got a 3.3 R200 I bought of another forum member and haven't used it as I have gone the sTi route.

I'm in Sydney and can drop off to the Taren Point ego depot if you're interested.

Can't remember how much I payed but when I find the pm will charge you the same.

I'm Running a C4 Auto but don't have a tacho hooked up yet. Having said that the 302 has Extractors, 2.5 Inch System, Electronic Ignition, Redline Torker Manifold and Edelbrock 4 Barrel. The cleveland revs free and strong, i just had the tailshaft reworked and tested it for vibration but 170 was about as far as it would go.

Yes i seen the conversion that fella in tassie had done. Would be better long term solution.

That's odd, I have a 3.7 with RB power and I hit 100mph nearing the top of 3rd

Yes but our rb engines redline around 7500 rpm. The old clunker ford v8 is maxing out around 55000

Yes 55000 rpm. It's getting it's jet thing on. I think you mean 5500 rpm. You South Australians, really!

Kameari does a 3.152, but it is big money. Maybe you could change the ratios in the box as well? Don't know much about C4s or if there were different ratio boxes. Perhaps you could get a crown wheel and pinion made up from scratch although this would be terrifyingly expensive. Some later Nissan diffs had a 2.75, don't know if this could be adapted, maybe worth a try.

3.3 arrived yester day from Cozza in Sydney. Can't thank him enough, sold it to me for the same price he bought it for so now i have a 1/4 mile diff and a street/highway diff. I'll change it over after rego.
