zzzzed Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Can't think of any. Any reason why you feel the need though? Quote
Ledge Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Hi Scoota Well as long as you can find or make a hinge that you can setup so the hinge pins are on the same line and you may need to strengthen up where the hinge mounts both on the hatch and the car. and also wherever you mount the catch it should theoretically work. would the pressure inside the cabin want to push open the corner of the hatch that is not hinged near the roof? Cheers Paul Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted January 20, 2013 Moderators Posted January 20, 2013 Tell me all the reasons why i couldn't do this. Scoota Interesting concept, I am all for new ideas. How would work gas struts to stop it falling closed, especially the lower one ? Good Luck PB Quote
Ledge Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Hey Scoot, you may be able to use E type hatch hinges. may be expensive though. cheers Quote
PeterAllen Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I took a break from clearing out the shed. It would have to be in fibreglass with a lexan window to save the hassel of a gas strut. PS. I'll send you the bill for my hernia! Quote
garvice Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Any reason, or just to be different? Hatch has a bit of a curve to it, so like the regular hinges it would need to pull the hatch up and away from the side. This would make the hinge design a little low and back sitting in the boot area, will move into the area a little for the lower hinge. Quote
