it's been 13 years since I sold this car, but I thought might be of interest to some.

Was going through stuff the other day and found some pics.

As purchased with saggy suspension, Hoshiro racing wheels 14x8.5 & 14x9.5 if I remember correctly.

Only mod was a 2.5" exhaust and a fantastic sounding twin pipe TRUST muffler.

looked better after the suspension was done at which time it was discovered the front left rail was bent.

The rail was straightened, crossmember and control arm replaced, body alignment checked.  Suspension

was Tokico Illuminas strutsall round with heavier King springs. Heavy duty adjustable castor rods from Stewart Wilkings, standard swaybars. Bushes replaced with urethane from Noltec.

After a couple of years it was time for more power. Engine was rebuilt with new pistons and rings, all new bearings, bottom end balanced, head was rebuilt and some minor headwork done, Crow cam and double valve springs, HM headers, 2.5: exhaust with straight thru muffler, noisy and droned like hell. AU XR6 Falcon 65mm throttlebody, EMS ECU, larger injectors. Gearbox reco'd and heavier clutch put in. The standard 3.7 R200 open wheeler was replaced with a 3.9 LSD. I had the box and diff mounts redone in urethane by Noltec.

then we went to coilpack ignition, again from a AU XR6 Falcon. The dizzy was ditched and replaced with a Series 5 RX7 module which has the crank angle sensor. Minor machining was required to make it fit.

A rear spolier which I found at SSS Automotive was added and the wheels replaced with Performance Superlites 15x7 all round.

They had only recently been released and 7 inch was the widest available. 16's were some years away.

almost forgot. interior was tidied up. seats were reupholstered and bolstered significantly and were an excellent seat. Old stereo was ditched for a new headunit, power amp, pair of Jaycar 6x9's behind the seats and a pair of 6 inch (I think) at the front on an under dash panel on each side. Sparco steering wheel and the list goes on

I really like the first photo, great car. I wonder where it ended up also?

rear spoiler was from Japan. I found it at SSS Automotive. The spoiler had bold protruding writing on the back EVA DATSUN 280ZX.

I got rid of that, re-glassed it and had it painted.

I sold the car to Carlos at Sportsclassic in 2002. He turned it into a rally car and eventually sold it. Well I'm assuming he did.

He took a mould of the rear spoiler and now sells them.

This is what the car last looked like. No idea who bought it or where it went

I spoke to Carlos from Sports Classic and he said he sold it 3+ years ago, and is hardly used by the new owner,

He has the molds for the rear spoilers but no spoilers on the shelf, they are made for 280ZX 2 seaters and will also fit 280ZX 2+2s with some trimming.

I have ordered one next time he makes a batch here's a link to his contact details http://www.sportsclassic.com.au/Pages/Contact-us

I think between $220 and $250 each
