  1. The matt black round the door apertures is hand painted? (original?) how about under the 1/4 panel windows. That is not original. It should all be body colour. Beg to differ on this one. I believe that the poster is referring to the inner sill panel under where the carpet/inner black scuff plate is. I have seen hand painted black matt paint in this area as original.
  2. Not a Zed but well worth a view in my opinion. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-toyota-2000gt-2/
  3. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1973-datsun-240z-auto/SSE-AD-3606919/?Cr=15 Cant seems to see this one posted anywhere here?
  4. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-183/ Looks half decent.
  5. Look at the jack and the (removed) seatbelts in #778. Seatbelts are the same as the USA specification. I was once advised that our cars received them and were removed by dealerships prior to sale as they didnt comply with Australian safety requirements of the day. Jack looks the same as the original in my 1969 model B10.
  6. Nice looking 1973 240-Z on BAT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-157/

  8. https://sydneynewstoday.com/ford-falcon-gtho-phase-iii-sets-auction-record/54858/ Mentions the 260-Z at $116k.
  9. Just a quick note to let everyone know that the new edition of Unique Cars Magazine, Issue #445, features a Datsun 240-Z "Restoration" article. Also features a Toyota 2000GT. Im not affiliated with Unique Cars Magazine in anyway, just wanted to let all members know. Would be interesting to see if the owner of the car in the article is a member here, or if any members know of the car.
  10. Havent seen this one posted anywhere on here: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1973-datsun-240z-manual/SSE-AD-6821611/?Cr=0 Looks like a bargain!

  12. Sorry for the misread. When you said Dr Harry I assumed you meant the TV vet as I have seen this reported in the past.
  13. TV doctor Harry COOPER did not own #4. CORBET owned #4. Not sure of fathers name but son is Trent.
  14. It is a 1973 model as stated by GongZ. It is interesting though that it was complianced in Australia until 1975. That's one hell of a long boat trip!
  15. Now listed on the carsales website: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1973-datsun-240z-auto/SSE-AD-6403831/?Cr=0
  16. Result pretty much as expected; topped USA$100k but didn't top the Franklin Mint car by Bill Reagan auctioned off several weeks ago through the same website.
  17. I haven't seen this one posted yet https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-93/ Very significant car in the USA. It will be interesting to see what it sells for and if it manages to reach the "dizzying heights" of the recently auctioned Franklin Mint car by Bill Reagan. Time will tell, in fact approximately 6 days! Im betting it will go above USA$100k.
  18. I wanted to add my 2 cents worth to this discussion thread. After doing my research I purchased a Covercraft car cover for both my 240-Z and my Torana in the "Noah" fabric. When the cover for my 240-Z arrived, it had two mirror pockets in it, one on either side where the doors are. I had to send it back as my car has the front fender mounted mirrors...so lesson 1 here in ordering from them is to be VERY specific regarding things like this. One thing which is my fault as I didn't think of it is that the Torana has a exterior black plastic louver on the rear window, no allowance as made for this and hence I am unable to have the louver fitted to the car with the cover on. Second gripe, the cover damaged the chrome on my bumper. Periodically green oxidation muck would form on the chrome bumper where the cover touched the bumper and I had to continually polish it off; it ended up slightly pitting the fresh chrome on the bumper. I have the bumpers covered in cotton summer weight bedsheets now in several folded layers prior to placing the cover on and it now protects the chrome. I hope someone out there finds this info useful PRIOR to ordering the Covercraft cover. It is a good cover, but be careful ordering please.
  19. http://www.speedhunters.com/2019/03/the-datsun-nissan-heritage-museum-youve-never-heard-of/ Make sure you read chapter three carefully!
  20. Pretty expensive firewall cut!
