Hey Guys,
Been a big weekend for me. I still have no work, but I decided to do some thing on the car that won't cost me any more. I replaced all the bulbs in the dash with 4watt globes, which really has made a difference. I wired up the rear defogger and the indicator light that comes on with the defogger, I also wired up the original radio to light up with the rest of the dash lights. I am yet to find the power wire for the radio, but I will soon.
Next job was the horn wiring, I re-soldered the wire that runs past the combo switch to the steering boss, and now I have power to the relay (hooray). I am yet to trace that to the engine bay, but I will soon enough.
After that, I had to work out why my windscreen spray motor wasn't working, turns out it was just jammed up with rust? But once I manually turned it it was fine again, next was the wiper motor.
The wiper motor just stopped working a couple of weeks back. The head light etc were dimming when it turned on, so I know it was getting power. I removed it and tested it to power and it was fine. Turns out on of the pivot arms was rusted in place, and preventing it was working. So, that is now soaking in WD40.
I think I want to paint my engine bay while I am pulling it all apart... but that is going to cost me money
