I think i remember reading somewhere that they stopped production in september for 240's, could be wrong though... Good to see another in surgery and soon on the road to recovery if only my health insurance covered the z's reconstructive surgery! Hehe

The 73 240z in fro sale section claims to be one of the last delivered with a vin of 103437...... So what does that make mine Is there a register or some way of finding out what number they stopped at?

Looks great Craig, love the 3 autometer gauges in the dash and those wheels really suit the car especailly in that color combo!

Thanks guys, I've been able to source one through datsport in sa. It's a high performance racing chain from japan and associated parts (adjustable tensioner), sounded good to me Lou Mondello can source high quality sets too apparently, but wasn't able to get hold of him.

Yep have manual, thanks for the tips. So driving is a deffinate no no? :'( Re radiator, thats it but got the fan shrowd as well as fans. Bout $339 from memory

Been told i can drop fluids, back off sump bolts and remove it that way? Not ideal but beats removing the whole motor... :-\

Haven't done it before but should be fairly straight foward, just a pain in the a@#e considering i had it stripped down a few days ago. Any tips, traps for young players? Hunter, it's from evilbay, 3row with shrowd and twin thermos, great quality and works fantastic, thermo switch in top hose fans on at 85 of at 80.

Doh! I just fitted a new alloy rad with twim thermos over the weekend :'( Is this a common problem? Can i get a full kit from nissan?

I was thinking the same thing, I didn't think the guides should move at all but the top of passenger side can be pushed in and out 10mm easily with a screw driver. Chain seems to be tight on The drivers side with the tensioner..... Lucky i just drove home yesterday, 2hrs at 110kph

Pump and alt bearings are ok, doesnt sound like bearing noise it's more of a loud rattle

Help anyone? I started my 240z up today to hear an awful ratlle at idle. it's an l28, checke vavle clearances, rockers, springs, removed plugs not damaged, oil pressure is fine. When i bring revs above 1500 noise dissapears I looked at the chain and sprocket seem ok, but the chain guide on the passenger side seems to move approx 10mm in and theres some wipe makes on the rocker cover wear chain runs? Any help appreciated

Hey guys, I'm replacing hoses on my L28 engine but i can't read the size on the hose, it runs paralell with the block below the spark plugs, then into fitting that goes to the heater. Is it 5/8 heater hose?

I have had superlites with standard offset and 215's and like you say close, but ok. Now running 16" konig rewinds aren't quite standard offset but very close to it, I had to get the lips rolled otherwise they did hit.

I think the only change in the 240 doors was the side impact bar got bigger/stronger and the door became heavier as a result. Not 100% on that though.

I had the same problem not too long ago and ended up getting some doors from california, people want a lot of money for crap doors here if you can find them that is. My doors are rust free and had been walnut blasted and etch primed. Seller was lazy and didnt ship them for a month but once on their way they took 7days to arrive. All up inc shipping cost $830 aus. Have a look on ebay, there is always some on there.
