  15. hey mate Yes the inserts are smaller and i run mine all the way down inside to make sure the support is on the base of the engine stand i also found it easier to weld like this Under the chassis rails you have a least 3 bolt points on either rail , i like this as it seems to be a stronger place to secure the stands This is peter allen ( forum member) design that i copied Loui
  16. thanks the the info Ben i will be chancing them up for a few orings Loui
  17. hey big fella have a look here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5610.30.html i used 2 cheap eBay special engine stands i cut them down and welded in a smaller sq pipe to give me the height The metal cost me about $150 height of the ground is 1250mm. I added a 300mm insert into the vertical tube of each engine stand. Be very careful when you do this to make sure the pivot point is horizontal. The axis of rotation needs to be 75mm above the bumper bar mounts both front and rear. I can rotate mine with one hand. I also fitted 4" Castor wheel - very cheap on eBay. The small wheels fitted to the standard engine-stand make it difficult to move when there is a significant load applied. hope this helps Loui
  18. thanks ben my mistake i didnt get the orings, if you have no need for them i would be happy to buy them off you or whatever you want for them thanks Loui
  19. thank you guys zed240 has answered my question, i took the calipers in as a complete unit not split in 2 as they are now, i thought there would have been a o-ring to seal the 2 half's together but wasn't sure the kit i got has 8 seals and 8 dust caps for 8 pistons BUT no o-rings i don't know why the uped the price, i spoke to the previous owner of the calipers ( forum member ) and they worked well on the track , all i wanted to do was run a seal kit in them while i had them off the car. checked and double checked for pitting on the piston and piston sleeve and all look good scoota sorry but i don't know how to do pics yet but thanks Dimitri thank you you are spot on Ben thanks but i also have s12w and there are 4 pistons on each caliper and therefore need 8 seals thanks again guys if there is anymore info please let me know Loui
  20. Hey Guys i need some help, i have a set of vented disc calipers ( ln 106) and gave them to a so called brake specialists who informed me that it would be $65 + parts to re kit them with new seals etc Received a phone call after 3 days and they tell me it will cost $480 approx to redo them, so i said NO THANKS. went there to pick them up and they tried to charge me $13 for freight i said NO THANKS again and walked out BUT there where nice enough to have pulled them apart and blast all the paint off the calipers Went to Toyota and ordered the kit cost me $72 for both calipers, MY question is i can install the kit but with the calipers pulled apart i am not sure how i should seal the 2 sides together, and is there anything i should be carefull with Thank you all in advance Loui
