  1. needs a bit of work, but most of the parts are included with the car, (just needs F&R bumpers and a few lil bits and pieces for the engine) 240 with a L28 (still need to doubl check the engine to confirm) it will be good to tinker with, ive done alot on my s14 but the engine is something im still a lil wary of, so a carbie is something good to get my head around learn by reading, researching then doing is basically what ive been doing and am going to keep giving it a go
  2. that would be good to see what offset are the 8.5's well as an example on the s13 i was running a 215/45/17 on my 9's and 235/45 on the 10's and my s14 is running a 225/45 semi slick on a 9.5 and a cheap 215/45 on the rear again on a 9.5 im probebly going to be looking for a 15/16 in rim, and dont want to go to the trouble of getting a set sent from japan to be dissapointed (and the fact small low offset meshies go for alot in japan because all the 86' guys want them)
  3. yeah pretty much what im asking from what ive read, a low ofset is required anyway (ie say a 8+4) for the gaurd to looked "filled" but its not giving the agressive look with the addition of streched tyres im guessing around a 9+0 would be needed anyone have any links/ experience with this on a Z
  4. ok... ill try better what width/ offset wheels would i require for a stock body 240z (no flares) to achive similar wheel fitment to the white s13. with the aid of streched tyres ie wheels themselves outside the gurds, then tyres streching inside the gaurds i think that makes more sense
  5. looking at some pics ive seen a few Z's with agressive wheel fitment, but sofar, ive been unable to find wheel/tyre specs on any from what ive read a 8in wide with offset of around 0 seems alright with a chunky tyre on a Z. but what should i be looking in regards to a wider wheel/lower offset with a streched tyre my current s14's fitment is a bit too agressive for a 240 looking to get wheel fitment similar to my old s13 any ideas/specs/links thanks
  6. picking up my first Z on thursday
  7. need some stuff for my new car the rod between the accelerator point on the firewall and that linkage on the carb. Filter box Front and rear bumper drivers side window side mirrors (maybe even fender mirrors) please let me know if youve got these need posted to 2571 NSW thanks
  8. alot better, better on fuel, looks better, lighter, handles better but i might be bias, ive had a NA SR s13, a turbo CA 180sx and now a turbo SR S14 Love the S chassis cars
  9. that what i did with mine drove past in a group of cars, loud+backfiring. see nice officer, exhaust on quite officer pulls me over (because i had rediculuus ride height compared to the others) my car is nice and quite the whole point i see, is that if you want it to be quite for daily drive ect have the valve shut and drive normally low revs/off boost but then when you want to give it a hit through some twisties or something you open it up and have the advantage of a normal free flowing system it wont get you through the epa ect, but great for a street car
  10. ive got a varex muffler on my s14 its a full 3in turbo back system with a pucnched out cat (previous owner) one lil resonater, then just the varex at the end when its open sounds like normal exhaust with a cannon on the end when its closed it sounds stock volume, ie hear the engine over the exhaust I still wouldnt be thrashing it 100% with the butterfly closed, but it would definattly be alot better or the engine compared to those drift/apexi oes where it completly blocks the exhaust when it used to be on my old 180, had it closed so i could quitly drive to the track, then open it up there so it would be like a normal 3in exhaust i dont have a vid, but if you search varex on you tube theres a fair few of them im actually thinking about getting it mounted further back in the system like a mid muffler then have it going to twin tips, to get rid of the big cannon look
  11. the r33 skyline is the commodore of imports, not that great, big, boaty, and there everywhere nice Z lil out of my budjet unfortuently
  12. the pcd is different, but how the actual caliper mounts are the same so i would assume that this adaptor bracket could be used for al those calipers because all the calipers are interchangable between those models, ut the rotars are diferent sizes/pcd's
  13. hey mate if your willing to post to NSW please PM me with your price+postage costs
  14. by far the best person i have delt with to get things from yahoo actions is Jesse Streeter his a aussie living in japan ultra quick service (usally replys to emails within a hour or 2) very trustworthy, has a great reputation on alot of other forums ect and his commission is tiny for the quality of his service ie i got a grill for my s14, his comission was 1000 yen (so about $15). For a set of wheels that he had to organise to take the tyres off prior to posting to aus 4000 yen (so abot $60 for him going that far out of his way) compared to most importer that near double the cost of the product contact him via dartsun75@gmail.com ............ or i think he has a website now, something like www.jessestreeter.com oh and if your trying to translate the description of the item in japanese. just copy and paste the text into this and gives you a good engrish (some of it is stll a lil weird) tranlastion http://translate.google.com/translate_t#ja|en|
  15. im guessing this could be used with a s13/14/15 r32/r33 and z32 caliper as well as they all have the same bolt patterns if you still have them in a bit i may be interested in them
  16. the s2 s14 usually go for low teens for a stock one mine was rough and pretty much stock, so i picked it up for less than 10, (not the best example of one, but ive changed alot of the stuff on it already) yeah thought id sign up and learn a lil before i go ahead with a car purchase, and i wont be gong to the Eomm because ive got no licence, only 1 month to go
  17. thanks so pretty much the engine number is the only/easiest way to tell, will be like L28XXXXXXX or something like that the red/burgandy/white one was a '90 180sx, had a CA turbo in it. was pretty much a track car because i couldnt drive turbo under p plates. the shiraz/purple one is a '97 series 2 s14/200sx and that my current car. was intended to be daily/track but i havent even driven it and pretty much every suspension componant has been replaced, full bolt in cage ect.... gets defect every 2nd time its been driven
  18. hi I've been a long time admirer of the 240z's. they have been the "old" car that I've always wanted to do up. I'm about to get off my P's and need another car, so it might be the right time for the Z i checked out one last night, needs a bit of work, but I'm fairly keen on it. plan is for now to give it a backyard spray and get it running. Then just get it regoed and have something to get to work in. Long term probably sort the brakes and suspension out and maybe even a SR So far Ive been into mostly silvia's on my 3rd one atm and drifting, but my latest s14 has turned into too much of a track car for a daily before ive even driven it I know how to swing a spanner and have done everything but the welding on my s14. but i know nothing much about Z specifics so pretty much ill be annoying with dumb questions first annoying question, is there anyway to quickly diferentiate a L24 and L28 by looking at it anyway, heres my old/current cars, and hopefully there be a Z to add there soon
