  1. Yep I have the original hubcaps and wheels, as well as some other spares and bits and pieces. I think I'll put them on next time Marques in the Park is on this year.
  2. There are some spectacular Z cars in that show, it just makes your jaw drop really... Enjoy.
  3. Necro post Cool old 240 commercial
  4. I've got an "S30" owners manual from 1973 that's in pretty good nick. I'd be happy to scan it in to pdf format and send it along. You can get service manuals here: http://carfiche.com/manuals023/cars/ I also have a contact list for all Datsun dealers circa '73 and the owners manual for the original AM-FM radio.
  5. Ok managed to recreate the problem, the accelerator pedal was catching on a little bump in my carpet. Such a small thing can cause such drama. Thankyou for your help everyone. Looking forward to catching up with you on the meet in August sco_aus.
  6. It returns fine, but I've noticed it was a bit "sticky" when I put my foot right down. I haven't really taken much notice of it since I don't do it very often - it's not the sort of car you thrash to death. I'm up north in Nicholls, Gungahlin. I'll see if I can clear out the gremlins tonight, if there's no joy I know I can call on you sco_aus.
  7. Sound advice about turning the ignition off, I'll remember that and if it happens again I'll kill it. Your help is appreciated guys.
  8. Thanks for the help guys, I'll take a look tonight and make sure everything's squared away.
  9. Hi guys, this morning my z tried to kill me. I was driving away from a traffic light and gave it a bootful to get into the exit slip lane to work. When I took my foot off the accelerator it wouldn't come back up. This scared the crap out of me and I thumped it a few times, and took the car out of gear so I wouldn't crash full tilt into the cars and wall in front of me. The tacho registered over 7 grand for a few seconds and it sounded like the end of the world. I thought "Oh boy, if I don't die in a fire I'm going to be up for a new engine." The accelerator came up just as I was thinking this and I drove - carefully - into work. The car is in canberra and it had been outside overnight in the frost. I didn't like it just the same as you but I had no choice, I live with my parents and my dad needed the garage to do work for his business. (Rarely happens). The engine seems to be okay, I left it running for a few minutes when I got to work with the bonnet up to try and cool it down a bit, turned it off and left the bonnet up for about 5 minutes. Still sounded okay but I was wondering, how does this happen and how do I fix it? I won't be going full throttle until I'm sure this won't happen again. Cheers
  10. Wow! Fantastic resource, bookmarked! Thankyou for sharing!
  11. Don't suppose you guys have seen this? Great game, completed all stages platinum. Playing online is a great adrenaline rush! Highly recommended. PS3 only.
  12. Yeah, it grumbles a bit when the engine is cold - love Canberra winter! - but once it's warm it purrs along like a kitten.
  13. My name is Miika (pronounced Meeka - a good Finnish name), I bought it a couple of weeks ago but I just got it registered on friday - passed first go! It cost me $14000. A lot of money but it came with some spares, the original wheels and hubcaps, receipts and rego history. It was in a Unique Cars article in 2000, it came with the mag to prove it! And I just love the car, to be honest. I'm up north - Nicholls, Gungahlin. Aaaand here are the pics, haven't taken any new ones yet. Nice to meet you guys.
  14. Hi guys, looks like as good a spot as any to introduce myself. I've just bought a lovely '73 240Z from Melbourne and it runs very nicely. Mind if I come along? Your Z's look very nice from some of the pics I've seen.
