Hey Rev, after the 260Z slatted air vents, might be able to get the drip trays from 280Z and the catch then. Those 280Z vents don't look as nice as the 260 ones. Thanks for the info.

Thanks John for the info, yes good idea to be able to bolt it straight on or off. That is what I want to be able to do with mine if I change my mind with it I can just go back to the original nose and switch between the two. I was thinking of getting the Alfa G-nose that pretty much replicates the original, so I am assuming this would bolt straight on/off as well. Also would be interesting to see how much reinforcement you need so it doesn't flex too much at high speed. Good work keep it up!

Nice choice of color, I am a huge fan of the Can-Am Mclarens. It must be very close to that new Ford orange I have seen on the Falcons, it reminds me of Mclarens when I see them. Only trouble is they are Fords

Hi, with all Z they keep rather strange hours. You will have to try to call them at different times, they are not always there on weekends. I also believe that their rust repair sections are better than rare spares and ebay so I will probably get mine from there as well. You just need to chase them up a bit. Hope this helps.

Hi guys, have to do a sill panel under the doors and wondering how you can rust proof the inner side of the sill panel and weld it in without setting fire to the rustproofer/paint on the inside of it? What do you guys paint/treat inside of it with before welding it? Cheers.

Hi guys, my 260Z auto transmission has been loosely bolted to the engine by the PO (I got the car towed to my place). I am about to bolt it up. Is there anything I need to line up on an auto transmission with the flywheel/engine or can I just bolt it together? Cheers.

Good to hear that 240Z is being restored. With a build number that low, that is quite a find and may become a nice investment. You going original resto or bit of a resto-mod?

Does anyone know what kind of paint was originally used on zeds e.g. 2-pak, acrylic or enamel? I have seen a pic of the paint code sticker that says "amino alkyd enamel", is that what was used on all zeds? Also is there any difference between the type of paint used on the metallics and the non-metallics? I am painting my zed its original ice blue and deciding what type of paint to use. I have heard 2-pak is pretty toxic, and acrylics tend to break down a bit. The enamel on my other car has held up really well. Does anyone know any good brands or suppliers in Sydney. If anyone has a pic of their paint code sticker that would also be very helpful. Cheers.

I do not think that people should be excluded from any sections of the forum. Having it freely accessable also means that more people join and contribute and also that people can advertise zeds and parts on here that all users of the forum benefit from before they are listed on drive or other sites like that. Anyway, Merry Christmas and I hope that all these wonderful zeds go to loving homes where they are nursed back to their former glory. Long live the zeds and I hope that early numbers 240 #1036 gets restored.
