What do you like about them, are they quite, good grip in wet dry?, low wearing. I think if we pool together we can nut out the really bad performing tyres. Also if you dont mind it's pretty hard to google and get a simple price so put up your price as well if possible please. The tyres i picked are supposed to be softwall, keeping a larger percentage of the tyre on the road when cornering hard.

Well i booked the car in tomorrow for some well over due rubber. I had visions of semi's but the price put a stop to that. $400 a pop was a bit much for me this time of year. So I'm wondering what the all the non semi guys are using and what your opinion is of the brand/model. I decided on some falken 912's. http://www.falken.com.au/tyres/passenger-ZE912.html $800 fitted and wheel alignment. They are supposed to be good bang for buck but also i read they are not that great over the first 500K's.

Thanks craig, but that would be torture. Anyhow just went and got a test light and a new flachcan. Instead of spamming this thread with my problems hopefully i will see you all saturday. Edit: Blinkers are go.... see you all saturday .

Everything else is working fine though even the bloody washer squiters A big thanks to Dimitri for coming down i felt like i have let you down more so. While its been exciting driving it for the first time in ages im pretty pissed off with it as well. Paid the reg on it today for saturday as well. Anyway i will keep looking for the problem and hopefully something turns up.

Haha the good old hairdresser jokes and lets not forget "your wife just called and wants her car back" Oh the joy of when i would blow them away on the road never heard those jokes again. Car looks awesome. Some nice mods already added i see, congrats.

I maybe able to make this one. Stock motor is back in just need Dimitri's final touch. Just need to be able to squeeze in a few test runs before then. Even thinking of taking it to work on Friday. I normally do around 250K's in a day so that would be a good work out. Although my boss wouldn't be to happy if she broke down. EDIT: Damn just remembered, i have no low beam so i would have to leave at a decent time on Saturday and i wouldn't be able to take it to work. hmmm just have to try and get as many runs in as i can before hand.

Mx5's is the best handeling car i have ever driven. I used to have a NA and then i turboed it. The person that bought it off me now has the club record at phillip island 1:50 The only cars beating him are mega $$$ expensive things. good luck with your 240 sale.

I guess i wanted to see what you thought it was worth, I'm not knocking what you placed on it as that's what i was after, i asked it, you gave it no harm done.
-
I'm more or less thinking 12K, don't freak out but that's what i feel its worth to me. Its mint inside and out and at the end of the day i wouldn't sell it for 10K anymore. I bet you a young fella picks it up as they go crazy over these things. All the young fellas look and then look again and then ask what it is, i even had someone ask me if it was for sale one day down the street. I think its the young peeps that will start to drive up the prices of 2+2 Z's. The 2 seater will remain a mature aged male sports car but i think the young kids will get hooked on 2+2's. Now saying that i would accept 12K but i would have to list higher as everyone loves to beat down the asking price. And if it takes a while to sell its all the more time i get to spend with it again hence the decision to revert back to stock now. Should be for sale officially in a couple of weeks time. As mentioned its really adjusting yourself to the prices that are climbing what seems like every few months. In saying all this i cant ever see a 2+2 worth over 20K but think back, when did you think a good one would fetch over 10K....
-
I say enjoy the 2+2 for what they are and also enjoy the 2 seaters as well. Worst thing we can do here is shoot ourselves in the foot by selling clean Z's cheapish. Still trying to decide how much to put mine on for with original motor and RWC..... Any ideas would be great.
-
I'm a bit surprised by the prices of them but I'm not shocked either. They are getting more rare to find a clean Z of any description. I always thought the gap between a 2 seater and a 2+2 would close up but of course the 2 seater will remain top dog. http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/results.aspx?No=0&Nne=15&Qpb=true&Cr=4&Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal%7c0%7c%7cpCar_RankSort_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cpCar_Model_String%7c0&keywords=&SearchAction=N&seot=1&sid=124FF0C837F4&N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%204294966615%204294966410%204294933023&silo=1011&trecs=7

Hey Zedman, if you want to spend some time on my car (wiring and accelrator cable setup) you can take that Brandnew $300+ Exedy ceramic clutch home with you but as i said im not sure if you still need a clutch or not. -

Your right, i might bite the bullet and pay an autoelec to have a look. Might only cost me $200 but if im playing with it trying to do it, it may cost a lot more by the time i melt stuff down... Its not going into an ignition barrel its going to be a switch panel. I want to leave all the original barrel etc so i can revert it back to original nice and easily. Thanks for the replys -

Great advice, i do have a multimeter, i tested all the wires and could see around 12.4 volts of current when connected except for one wire. 10 seconds is probably more like 5 so your right there. Now heres something you might think is crazy, if i was to wire all these wires to switches, turn them all to "on" and then hit the starter button would this be emulating an ignition barrel? as im pretty sure thats where the wires were supposed to go or should i to see to if some of them are for RPM which is something i just thought of then. I have searched high and low on google for a wire diagram of a vl commodore. I shall keep looking -
Hey guys, im back onto the project doing some wiring, Im get confused by some things and electrics is one of them. I have a loom and fuse module made up by castlemain rod shop for the RB30 install, problem is no wires are labled..... So far i have identified the starter motor wire (the one hooked up), i flick the switch and motor turns Fuel pump i can turn on by two seperate wires, thing is it stays on for 10 seconds and then switches off, i hear a click in the fuse box when it goes off, the rest of the wires i have no idea. I gues one would be ignition, i know the solid red is constant 12 volt. Would have been good if castlemain rod shop named them. Is there anyway i can identify these wires without hit zap and hope? and why does the fuel pump only run for 10 secs and shut off? Any help would be awesome.
