well i saw what the factory kick panel looked like today so im just going to make one instead. The gear knob however im still after

best thing you can do is take as many pictures of it now before you spray, when i bought mine cameron pulled out an album of the full restoration. I could see where there was little rust and i could also see how it was removed etc etc. It's very re-assuring if your going to do a respray that the buyer can see what condition the body was in before. Take as many pictures as you can so the whole body is covered in detail. ok i looked for a gallery of some sort and i couldnt find it but i will look again, Cameron put a lot of work into the car. He got it 90% done, i just got it going and a lot of small jobs with the interior etc. Its a baby seat yes, i have 2 girls aged 3 and 5. The pictures were a last minute thing so i didnt think to take it out. Normally it isnt in there. As for future mods id like a lumpy cam and the electric dizzy put in. That will do me for a year or so. Then some head work and maybe tripples. Im not after all out power i just want something that will hold it's own. It already has extractors and a bigger pipe. Sounds nice up top.

Just cleaned her up a bit and took some photo's up arthurseat just before i put the cover on it. Hello, I need a 1977 2+2 passenger kick panel in either excellnet condition or something that can be cleaned up. i dont want anything thats busted up or scratched badly/ The gear knob i have is missing the alloy centre piece so i would like either a complete knob or just the centre cap. great, im going over tomorrow aswell if the mrs doesnt mind the 35 degrees. This morning i have to easy out one of the front mani studs and put a new gasket on and get my simmons back. I will keep an eye out for the sports club on sunday might just give you a ring lol to see which day suits you. you must have finished your coil over conversion then

I'd just see about whether they fail it first, and if they do, then do something about it. May not be a problem in the end, and if it is, it will give them something obvious and easy to fail it on - some guys like to at least get one or two things that need to be fixed, so they can write it on the RWC and it shows they have looked at the car properly. The other problem you may have is that sometimes country testers are very tight on their interpretations, and fail things that would pass otherwise. Get it inspected when you're ready, and see. i agree, my exhaust passed and the whole neighbour hood can hear me.

Thats news, i just got my RWC and my left indicator didnt work if you pushed it 1 mm to far. I had to fix that as he explained every thing on the car has to work like the day it rolled out of the factory. Also if it hasnt been reged for some time like mine (14years) expect them to go over it with a comb.

that would be good just to get it sorted, i have it half running again. Good enough just to cruise up to get it reged, then demitri i can come to you if thats ok. i will bring the electric dizzy and get rid of the old dizzy all together its giving me nothing but grief. sorry if i seem a bit stressed this is not normally me. thanks i ended up going over the dizzy again and again and also all the coil conections. Some how i got spark back through the coil lead so then i had something to work with. Whats the best way to time it without a gun. Just crack the bolt and move it slightly and see how it revs? sorry to harass you guys but as i said before im trying to get my car going for tomorrow so i can register it so i have a little emergency here so any help at all would be what....helpful? Is there something else i need to check or replace if my coils are throwing no spark? i have tried many coils, i have used electronic and point dizzys but theres no spark? i have wired the coil direct to the battery but still no spark. Could someone help a person out thats running on 2 hours sleep over the last 26 hours please???

put a voltmetre on the coil, it shows 8 volt while cranking, then when i hold the end of the coil plug to the head or block no spark. I then just grabed the end of the lead while it was cranking and i didnt get a pulse. This has happened with 4 different coils.

now im having so much fun i decided to at least try and get it going on points again. Why is this so stupidly hard??? Can the ignition module shit itself and cause no spark. All my great luck thrown into one day.

hi, i put myself to bed (nightshift this week) to get a few hours kip and try and sort this problem so i can just register the car. I have a multimeter aswell but will make a test light. I remember you saying if the + and - is back to front the module will fry on the elec dizzy. Sadly as i had been up 22 hours i didnt trust myself anymore so i stopped work. now after after a rest im in better shape to try lol. If you want to save me Demitri id be forever greatful and will pay you whatever you want. This car is making me very sad at the moment. Its a love hate relationship

hello, it was running this morning badly, then i looked at the points and they seemed fine for gap. I then put the dizzy cap back on and no start. not even close. I then tried the electric dizzy converion and still no spark from any plugs. I have tried all different coils. Really annoying as i was supposed to register it today had to cancel that and looks as though i will cancel tomorrows appointment aswell. I have been very dissapointed with this car as i have spent hours and hours on it and it still sitting in my driveway going knowhere. bloody thing....... im just about over it

So what am i replacing then, when i connect the old one it has a red wire with a like a round sliding connection. Isnt that the sender?

that makes sense dalee as the one i took out looked pretty new. I will try the one out of my friends car in mine to see what happens but im thinking thats the problem. If not i will try and diagnose the problem as rbz 260 suggested

ok so installed the new sender it still the same symptoms. I put the ignition on, the oil goes to full pressure, start the car and it returns to zero and remains there. If i leave the ignition on without starting it stays on full pressure. Is there something else i should be checking? Does this sound familar to anyone. cheers glen
