  1. Can confirm that it is a brand new(as in never driven) exedy hd(pink) purchased from an ABS store. Motor has good compression numbers aswell and seemed to be a tight L28. good value for money this kit!! Are you going rb20?
  2. Man that sucks!! hope its not as bad as it looks
  3. As other have said.... nobody would buy it off you in oz for the same money, you would have to sell back to japan. If you were in a hurry for money this could pose an issue.
  4. lot of money for an old datsun.... whilst a 432 or gtr would be awesome im thinking you could get something much cooler for 70K??
  5. easier to install when out of the car but depending on how well they hug the block it can make it pain for installing the motor... have done it many times both ways with not too much effort.
  6. get a tach adapter... monster tachos dont make you go faster
  7. if no luck you may need a tach signal convertor or something... do you have a spare tach?? Can be easier to test with one in the engine bay.
  8. You need to work out where the tach is drawing its signal from and which wire is being used to sense... it may just be a case of the tach wire being on pos not neg or visa versa.
  9. or could you just weld a tab extension onto the ends? My brother has a contact that makes custom sway bars in any configuration if you need it.
  10. can the sway bar be slightly bent outwards to reach? not sure is this is a good suggestion??
  11. here you go sushi... just find one with the right I.D http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=black+braided+hose&_sacat=0&_from=R40
  12. not to shabby.... mind saying what you paid for it?
  13. Ask and you shall receive... some numbers are for LHD though http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsunS30/DatsunZIndex.aspx
  14. so after it was torqued down did it leak straight away? or did you notice when you finished driving it? 1. I would double check its torqued correctly 2. Purchase new head studs and get the head skimmed will save you a bunch of dollars. You wont notice any real gains in performance by getting the ports touched up without the supporting mods. Your money could be spent much better unless of course the head is completely shagged. My 2c, Benny
  15. have you tried re-torqueing the head?
  16. just a few ponies!! looking forward to seeing them both side by side.... let me know when to lock in my bet
  17. Ron, If its only a small chip and the teeth are still in tact with no cracks it should fine... its not like your running huge amounts of power through it.
  18. I would say it is this one- a 74 2+2 http://www.picknpayless.com.au/eziparts/Display_Vehicle.asp?PriceListID=0&VehicleID=55084&Location=picknpaylesscomau&LocationID=1&VehicleDesc=Nissan%20260Z%2003/74-02/79
  19. Get over it mate!! everyone knows its a weapon... just needs some work on the aesthetics side. Majority of people here manage to build there own cars as a hobby not a job and can produce much finer examples. This thread isn't about who has the shitest zed its who has the ugliest.
  20. agreed, rather then just bolting on a supertaxi front bar it just needs a little work to make it more streamlined
  21. post up a pic of the gauges
  22. Hi Tom, thanks for that, so it seems you are still able to have unlimited displacement/induction as long as the engineer signs off? Edit: Just read the section on capacity, though it only says reccomended engine capacity, it doesn't seem that it is enforced? Ben
  23. Hi All, As far as i know VSI8 is still in effect in victoria and VSI14 isn't, is this true? Does VSI8 limit capacity and induction? or is it limited to what the engineer believes is sound? Benny
