Wow I'm building a car very similar to you at the moment, same colour, engine and wheels. I’m not going the super light weight route as you are. More GT style as I’ll be running it back in Europe eventually i.e. on the autobahn on my way to the ring so I need a bit more comfort at high speed. Was there a reason not to go with a six point cage? I would have thought that would have stiffened up the car a lot more but maybe not so light weight. The head looks good how much did SWR open up the ports and did they fit larger valves in the head for increased airflow or was it deemed not necessary? Keep up the good work! Hopefully I can catch up with you and there will be two white stroker Z's prowling the streets C I

Hi I’ve got some 40mm Dellortos that I’m thinking of selling. There from the same guy that Sulio bought his from, Alfa something.. They have been completely rebuilt and look identical to Sulio’s, I think he has a picture somewhere of his. I also have some new velocity stacks for them so they will be included in the price. They have 34mm chokes and are jetted for a high performance L26/28 but they might need some parts changed for your specific setup. I’m not sure of the price I can’t remember what I paid for them as I bought them over 18month’s ago now but it was probably around $600 all in, so offers some where around that. Ps, you will need an inlet manifold and linkages to suit, another $400 or so. C

Can't believe I've missed this post for so long, Uber cool stuff Van!!! We've got about 20 of those screens at work there pretty cool but no good for what I do as I would get a stiff neck looking down on one of those for 10 hours a day. Fingers crossed I'll be getting a 30inch flat screen in the next week, shame I'll only be able to use it for a few days as I moving to Holden next year C -

You can get all the hoses from Nissan, no need to get old stuff for double the price. C -

On exterior panels I would not use rust bullet or any type of rust paint for that matter, you just won't get an amazing finish. If you really don't want to media blast then I would use Rust Bullet for the interior and underside of the car, basically any places you won't see or can't reach to rub down to bare metal. C -

fufu, before my car was media blasted we removed the dog legs and chassis rails so that the blaster could better reach some of those ares. Any small amount a surface rust that was not removed with the blasting was masked up, then the rest of the car was etched primed. These masked areas were generally the areas the blasting did not fully reach, so inside places like the rocker panels, scuttle and deep in side the chassis rails etc. This is where Rust Bullet comes in to its own as some of these places are extremely difficult to reach and Por15 requires to much surface preparation to be used. We hand painted some areas and sprayed some others, you can actually use one of those pressurised garden weed killer bottles with the long wands to reach inside some of the hard to reach areas. My car is close to having its final paint so I want to get one can of Rust Bullet and almost pour it into some areas, we will then rotate the car on the rotisserie allowing the Rust Bullet to penetrate the seams around the rear hatch wheels arches etc this way no rust will form from the inside. You can top coat rust bullet like they said but not for 24 hours as the chemical reaction with the rust produces gas. If you top coat it after 72 hours I would scotch brite it first, although etch primer has acid in it and would most likely etch into the rust bullet anyway. Personally I would use regular paint as much as possible so long as its put on clean rust free metal you should have no problems, its also good to use epoxy primer/sealer at some stage or in the case of etch primer something called thermo coat, this will seal the metal from oxygen as etch primer, surface primer, base coat and even top coat are somewhat porous and will allow oxygen to get to the metal all be it very slowly. I personaly have noting to do with Rust Bullet, just from my experience its the best product for what I want it to do! Others will swear by Por15 and some by Zero Rust its up to the person doing the job at the end of the day. C Ps If you top coat Por15 you have to use their Tie coat first, so the process is to Marine clean, then Metal ready then Por15 then Tie coat then Top coat. Or de grease metal Rust Bullet then Top coat -

If you want some Rust Bullet I need to order a can and looking at www.rustbullet.com.au its the same delivery cost for three cans as it is for one C -
I got a center console for a 73 the other day The early type with the throttle control is made of GRP and they don't crack so there not made. Yeh we can only hope that Nissan will pull out the old stamping tools for the panels but that would cost millions of $$$ C
-
Trevor has some door trims in stock I would grab them as who knows how many Nissan has made. I think its been about 5+ years when they were NA so they may sell out next week or in 5 years better to be safe than sorry, I got two sets Other things to get would be centre consol, heater control panels throttle control knob etc etc etc..... Happy hunting... C
-
Half the stuff you see on ebay in the US that says hard to get where do you think they get them from in the first place! I would suppose that door trims would be one as they've been going for up to $800us on ebay but you can buy them from Nissan for $400au and you don't have to pay for shipping. Otherwise do you want a list of the parts I've got? Maybe you could buy loads of parts and sell them as super rare parts on ebay. But yeh seriously they still don't have a lot of things but don't automatically go to ebay just because you think you won't get them from Nissan. What I have done in the past is to take a copy of the ebay pictures and send them to Trevor and he then finds the part numbers and there availability! C
-
You would be suprised what you can still get! It's just a case of knowing the part number or having someone who will take the time to find them for you. RingRingRingRing extra extra read all about it, Nissan now have 240Z door trims in stock Get them before the Yanks buy them all up Sorry I'll get my coat. C

I would recommend Rust Bullet, if you want some Por 15 I've got some at my factory you could have it for a few dollars. C -
I've used Trevor quite a bit and he's always willing to look up parts from my vague descriptions. A recommendation from me too! C

Wow those are some big pictures Are you stripping it back and having it media blasted? Anyway before you get to carried away my advice to you is to label everything and take pictures of how things go together. But looks like you have the pictures sorted so far. Good luck man! C -

I've used Por15 and Rust Bullet and I prefer the Rust Bullet as it seems to have better adhesion and is simpler to use. http://www.rustbullet.com/ Charlie

Yep Eiji is your man for things like this, he's developing an after market ZG kit which should be very high quality. If you just want flares and mirrors he has them in stock, well he did when I checked 6 weeks ago. http://www.datsunspirit.com/ C
