  1. I know this isn't strictly classic JDM, or Datsun related, but anyway... Our friends at Aussie JDM news site 7Tune.com have the news. http://www.7tune.com/?p=63 Click the link for more info, and some artist concepts. Hey guys, if you're registered on Digg, please consider voting for this article so that my mates at 7Tune can get a much deserved boost in their traffic! http://digg.com/motorsport/New_RWD_Rear_Wheel_Drive_Toyota_sports_car_on_the_way
  2. Aaah yes, another formerly misguided soul finally converted to the one true God
  3. Now this is what online maps should have always been capable of doing. CHANGING. THE FREAKING. ROUTE. Hover over any point on the route, and you can click and drag to another street. The route will almost instantly change to suit your needs. So damn good. WhereIs.com.au pwned again.
  4. Haha, it's my site yeah. Not much to congratulate the guy about, since grandJDM isn't very important or far-reaching in the grand scheme of things, haha. Hopefully someday though! A few relevant blogs have linked to us now, so it feels good! And if anyone was going to ask, my comic is still happening! This is just something I do in my relax time - it doesn't take much energy heh.
  5. Go for a deeper, darker silver. *digs into Alfadog's gallery*
  6. Haha, we could just write out own script for it
  7. Thanks man! Hehe yeah, I try to get in a few games each week. Studying full time makes it difficult to afford such luxuries, haha. But it's the only way I get to drive an S30Z ;_;
  8. The bad guy, Derrick, leaning against his R34 GT-R Z-Tune. Colours will come in the next stage! And here's a progress sketch from earlier. I did use photo reference for the car!
  9. Zedevan: Hmm, might have to check that Alias app out! zr240: Haha, a long time. I usually only use that much detail for certain shots, depending on their importance to the story and the size of the page, etc. Right now I'm doing a drawing of the bad guy in the comic leaning against his R34 GT-R Z-Tune, and it's taking aaaages. But it's all worth it in the end!
  10. Could this possibly be any more perfect?! *quickly tugs while no one's looking*
  11. Aaah I see it now, haha. Hmm, never heard of that app or that company!
  12. It's only half an hour or so, like most anime episodes. Like he said, they fucked up somehow, and he expects that they'll have it all sorted out by the second episode. They're going to release a second version of the first episode that should fix up the size problem, if you'd rather wait. I couldn't wait myself, haha.
  13. For those who don't know, Wangan Midnight is a series of manga (Japanese comics) and arcade/PS2 games based on a guy who finds an S30Z on top of a pile at his local scrapyard, and restores it. He then takes on all manner of cars on the Tokyo bayside highways (known as Wangan - pronounced "wunn-gunn", with the usual Japanese inflection), and has a special interest in defeating the driver of the Blackbird - a modified 964 (I think it's a 964) Gemballa Porsche 911. You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wangan_Midnight Anyway, last weekend - after more than a decade of existence as a manga and various video games - it was finally launched as an anime series, by the same studio that did Initial D. I went searching for any info on which fansubbing group is doing the subbing for the Wangan Midnight anime, and this is what I've come up with so far. According to the AnimeSuki post quoted here, a group called SD Project have picked it up. However, I wasn't able to find any actual WM subs by them, or any sort of official news saying they were doing it. Perhaps in the next day or two, we'll see something from them. Further down that thread, there's this one. it looks like another group/person called One Man Fansub Group ([OMFG] (haha, gotta love that acronym)) have also declared that they'll be doing the series right through to its end. On top of that, they've already done the first episode - though they admit it was a bit rushed, and that they're quite new to the process. He mentions that something must have gone wrong, because their file ended up to be twice the size of the original raw video. Whatever the case may be, I'm downloading it right now. You can grab it here: http://a.scarywater.net/omfg/ I'd suggest keeping tabs on that page, and if you know how to use RSS (and you bloody should be using it), you can subscribe to that page for up-to-the-minute updates as each subbed episode is made available. This has been a Public Service Broadcast from Van Heavy Industries. Donations may be made in the form of stunning young nymphs.
  14. Haha, looks a bit like yours, Sulio!
  15. That'd be awesome. Hopefully it can maintain a decent system for presenting the comic and the comic archives (i.e. previous pages and navigation between the pages), otherwise I might not be too keen on the arrangement. But we'll see how it goes.
  16. Thought you folks might like to see a glimpse of how I do things, so I'll (very vaguely) walk you through the steps to drawing a person inside the Z! 1) Sketch it out, usually in light blue. You can use any colour obviously, but I'm just used to using blue haha. You can see it's quite a messy sketch, its purpose is to give me an idea of the shape and pose I'll be using. 2) Now that I've got the shape and pose down, I can start to figure out details. Switch to red, and use the blue lines as a guide. I've turned off the blue lines in this shot, so that you can see the red lines more easily. 3) Throw in the final inks. Basically identical to the red lines, but a little more polished, neater, sharper. And, uh, black. 4) erase the various parts of the car that the person's body crosses over, so the person fits the scene properly! Voila, done
  17. Holy shit, are those Wacom Cintiqs?! I want one ;_; So expensive! What's wrong in the pic? I must be missing it hahah. Yeah, any decent marker and technical pen is damn expensive, that's why I'm trying to focus 100% on digital work now, haha. My stylus is starting to wear out! Gotta order some new nibs for it, hehe.
  18. Updated the first post with a new progress sketch http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,897.msg5747.html#msg5747
  19. I am really, really looking forward to this. I'm one of those losers who thinks Will Smith is quite a good actor - even before his role in The Pursuit of Happyness - and movies of this nature (cataclysmic global catastrophe) always excite and please me regardless of how poorly written they are. My theory is that as long as they're visually well presented, my mind will make do with the rest. If it also happens to be well written - Children of Men for example - then that's even better. I'm hoping this will fall into the latter, but heck, I'll happily accept the former, haha. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/iamlegend/ novel - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend film - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend_%28film%29
  20. You're not wrong Gav, that is one classy Z! Not the biggest fan of the rims, but they're not an embarrassment by any stretch. Overall, a damn nice car. Good link!
  21. Hahaha Alfadawgie, I was gonna say the same thing Babs is famous now zomg! Freaking amazing cars though, to be sure. That RA Celica is nuuuuts.
  22. Mmm, your computer must be stuffed. Chuck it out and buy a new one!
  23. That Z - and its driver - needs to be put down.
  24. They look great Evan, nice choice! Flares make such an awesome difference to these cars, I love it!
  25. The Nissin Nissan team! Hahah Ahahaha a Gran Turismo FC
