  1. BUMMMMMP! Only a couple of weeks away!
  2. Welcome Just Zed projects are accepted (unless it's old school cool JDM), but thanks for asking!
  3. Well I got the head off tonight (no damage other than the stuffed gasket) and it's going in for reco'ing tomorrow. I call that freshen up, an 'upgrade'! Cam is stamped '6D198' - anyone recognise the style of stamping? I also have a 'High Energy' pod filer to go on - once I get the rest of the plumbing & ducting sorted. Then it's onto building the new 2.5" exhaust system, once it's running again That a quick retune... Hopefully I'll be ready for P.I. on the 29th of August...

  6. Don't tempt me Peter!
  7. Very Very nice...! Gold star for you Kiddo! Stickied!
  8. Thanks Peter - yeah I got down to a 1:33.5 which isn't bad for a stock(ish) 240! What time is Noel down to? Back to the topic at hand: At Sandown we decided to take the 280ZX airbox off & try & free up some more ponies - which was a mistake It's turned out it's not a manifold gasket, but a head gasket We took the giant 280ZX air-box off before my 4th run and it's must have lessened the restriction (= more air) leaned the poor girl out = the h/gasket let go due to lean detonation. Guess you have to be careful when your running 48deg of full advance... I'll whip the head off tomorrow night & get it all checked out. Time for a competition head gasket & some ARP studs & fasteners...!

I thought you were going Chev, Pete?
  10. The R180 in it atm, it's the original unit that's done over 250,000 miles - I don't particularly want to kill it on the track! I have a 3.9 R200 I'm going to build up that will go in it
  11. Nope - later 240Z, 260Z & 2+2 are very different
  12. Sorry Chris - no. It broke down in the first timed session Edit: A few more courtsey of DJ from NDSOC:
  13. I was going to, but I now need an LSD badly!
  14. Great to have you on here finally, Peter I take it your referring to Noel's 240Z? Locky.
  15. Ran at the John Mott sprint @ Sandown today, see here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6998.msg69860.html#new And a pic of the Zed with 16x8" Simmons B45's with Kumho V70A rubber I've also blown the manifold gasket around No1 exhaust port at the sprint today, so it suggests to me that the 2" system has too much back pressure. After I fix the gasket & fit a Pod filter (to replace the 280ZX airbox that was on it) I'll get a nice, quiet, 2.5" system fitted.
  16. Pity you couldn't make it Bruce I had a great day - till 2pm(ish) when the rain closed in I did have fun sliding around in the wet though I only suffered a manifold gasket failure, so hopefully it'll be an easy fix... I got down to a 1:33.5 before the rain hit, so I'm damn pleased with that time - especially considering it's a fairly stock 240Z! Dimitri had his in-car camera set-up in my Zed so look out for some footage soonish Many thanks to everyone who came down: Dimitri, Kyle, John, Bruce & Julian, Rev. Dave & Benny and Craig. Many thanks to Devo & NCC for running a very smooth event! Photo's courtesy of the SPAmaster!:

  20. You clearly have your cranium up your posterior.
  21. A blow-up Doll.
  22. Just to point out how much I really enjoy panel forming, I now have the 9 DVD set of these: I shall (hopefully) be playing the 1st DVD of "How to make a HG Monaro rear 1/4 panel" over the lunch break. Not long to go now!
  23. Just got the 'early bird' entry list from NCC, & there's stuff all Zeds running Gordo (in his R32GTR), Rob Devo in his 240Z, Greg Lazzard in a V8 260Z (ex WA car) & me in my 240Z. However there seems to be lots of spaces left for more late entries. So if your thinking about running it's not too late! All the Zeds guys seem to have entered for the Saturday! Dan Moore 240Z Noel Edwards 240Z <- quick Zed! Rob Devo 240Z Bob Greig 240Z Steve Harris 240Z PLEASE NOTE: The event is NOT open to the general Public any more, but if the tell them at the gate your pit crewing for Locky Fowler in the Red 240Z they should let you in. Any troubles: ZERO FOUR ZERO ZERO ZERO FIVE FOUR FIVE SEVEN TWO
  24. Accoreding to the Supp Regs: Entries close at 8am Saturday 17th July at $180 per day.
