Thought Id start a new project thread for my race car build! My new shop has some room out the back so I thought id take it in and start a in shop build I haven't got any pics yet. History of car: I purchased the car as a CAMS logbooked shell about 2yr ago. The previous owner purchased it from interstate and wanted to make it back into a road car but when he stripped and sandblasted the shell he decided it was a bit to rough for a road car and parted it out (sold it). Previous to that it was owned by a guy called Larry Greenhalgn (if anyone else knows this car or has picks please post here and let me know as I would love to know more history) I have chased up a bit of history. It was raced in the state series in marque sports from 95-99 mainly at eastern creek, Ran a 2.8L with triples. My Plan: The shell needs a lot of work (welding etc) So will put it on the rotisserie and fix it up. Need to go bolt on flair as the rear guards have been cut. (and also I am fitting the 16x10 wheels from my old race car) Think I will also go the G-nose like my old race car as well I still have my old 2.9L triple 4 weber race motor which is a perfect engine for this car. Still debating which what to go with suspension either koni/kyb inserts with weld on kit from Otomoto or the full adjustable coil over setup Otomoto does? Anyway that's were Im at at the moment, should have the area ready in a week or two to move the car in and start working Ash Also still think about brakes? got some series 6 RX& mazda calipers sitting in the shed that I could fit with some S15 front rotors and skyline rear rotors? This is my old race car, the new car will have these wheels and a similar body kit.

the 260z one is differnt to the 240z one. Took me a long time to find one when I needed one for my car. ebay US? Good luck Ash

Thats a good choice lurch love the speed 12. Shame they neverit them into production. I have an articale on them when they were checking it on the dyno and tge dyno broke at 1000hp!

I dont take anything on a forum as the highest quaility information. Unless i know the person who posted it i do my own research. Its like when you read somthing is bolt on. Bolt on to me means all it takes to fit is to bolt it on Not cut the bracket, weld sothing, change somthing etc etc Number of posts means nothing to me Ash

Unfortunatly they only have the std flat tops in stock at the moment. The pistons are $215.00 inc GST Rings are $119.00 inc GST They are going to get back to me on the .040 and .060 as to when they will be back in stock. Apparently they will be the same price as the std?? Ash

So .040 over is 1 mm bigger bore 87mm Is .060 over is 2 mm bigger? Or 1.5mm bigger? Ash

If you want some prices on 86 and 87 mm Japanese flat tops let me know and I can get some when I'm in work tommorow. I used to run them on my own race motor back in the day. They are a great piston if you don't want to go the extra step of forged/ custom ones. Pete is it safe to go to 88mm on all l28 block or is there risk of getting the bore wall too thin? Or do you sleeve it? Ash

I would have thought a crap shell is better for a race car After what happened to mine I would never use a nice shell for a race car again! Ash

Was just out at rain soled Sandown and saw a very smashed (think it was green with sign writing on it) 240z. Bit of a sad sight, anyone know who owns it and what happened? Ash
