  1. The NDSOC is incapable of running events as such. CAMS requirements/qualifications for such events are now unbelievable that very few clubs have qualified officials. Grass roots motorsports have been deserted by the over regulation by CAMS. If your thinking about doing something like this, then just go and do it and not inform CAMS. Clubs such as Mini (not suprisingly) are best qualified to host these events.
  2. Try Performance Exhaust in Ringwood (I know it's not next door to Langwarren, but the owner is a car nut & has all the mandrel bending equipement). mike
  3. Conventional (collective) wisdom over the past 35 years has indicated that NGK plugs as OEM perform the best in a L series engine. A search on any zed forum should confirm this, I've used NGK since '77. HIH MOM
  4. Hi Huw, A 260 strut will fit into a 240, the difference is in the thickness of the strut, the 260 being more thicker. Apart from that difference they will interchange. My advice is to find a pair of 260 fronts and change them over.
  5. An auto ZG? Why would you bother....
  6. It's not as simple as running a wire jumper (although you can, but be prepared to have your battery run flat every day). The mod is to replace the connecting wire that you speak of with a diode. Dick Smith sells a plug that mates with the zed connector, 25c buys you the diode, all up cost around one buck.
  7. Zedrally sends his inability to attend. Navigating in Ivan's Folly on that particular WE, next one isn't any better, ah shucks, August is a write-off completely... Hope you all have a great day....
  8. Might be time to think about cutting the roof off and making it into a convertable!
  9. oh well, at least my posts are being read!
  10. Thanks Jim, Yes the event went off like a rocket, so to speak. 29 entries, just the perfect amount for the venue to operate smoothly. The entire concept was accepted by all competitors as novel and worthy of persueing further. Generally, it takes me 12 months to even consider running an event. The background work and officials required can be considerable so for me to decided to run it again next year one day after, indicates just how confidient the Organising Committee is. At this stage it's the same time, same place and just an afternoon Gippsland tour. Entries will be limited to 30 cars this time. Hi to Tess, see you soon! Mike.
  11. The front bumper indicators where from a boatload of 73's that should have been delivered to the UK. That was a UK requirement, not an ADR. Apparently there was a wharf strike in the UK, so management decided to drop them off in OZ instead. You will notice that 260's don't have them....
  12. If there not down to the markers then they must be roadworthy! If you consider the car to be roadworthy and believe that the car would pass a cursory inspection then thats good enough for me. Remember this isn't a road race and all civil rules ARE to be observed at all times. There will be plenty of Police out where the route takes you, they have been advised that rally cars will be out there, if the coppers pull you up, how do you think you will go? So it's entirely up to you. I can't be any fairier than that. Hope to see you..... MOM
  13. Never an easy answer for this. Get the OEM Nissan set for the model and year. I've used AM parts and have never been happy with them.. HIH MOM
  14. gasket set for what part of the car?
  15. Hi Rod, Any road registered car can be used. THere are no CAMS requirements, it's up to the Director (me) to satisfy CAMS requirementsd that the car is legal & road worthy. Look forward to your entry. Mike
  16. Lou's is/was a member and would be aware of the event . I'm trying to capture people who have no affiliation with any car club that might be interested. Why, heck anyone with a zed is always welcome.........
  17. Hi all, I'm running an event on behalf of the Historic Rally Association on the 11th June, thats the Queens birthday longweekend. It's all bitumen and fully tuliped, starting and finishing @ Pakenham, cruz over to www.hra.org.au for full details. I'm hoping that someone on this list may have a Fairlady Roadster, they had a winning history in the Tulip Rally and it would be appropriate for one to make an appearance on the day.. Cheers, Mike
  18. Hi Jim, Love to give you an accurate answer but the 260's tacho is u/s. From memory it was high about 3k at 100kph. You'll should have noticed a 3-400rpm change when you swapped out the auto. Although that might change according to the diff. MOM
  19. RACV cost me $150 ish for unlimited use. 5K Cover Fire & Theft. [Daily Driver]. They also have a policy for Classic Cars that includes Roadside Service with a km. clause. HIH MOM
  20. Here you go...........ten words............or more.............
  21. The parts CD shows the system as fitted to S-30 models. MOM
  22. Cages aren't required for Introductary Rallies, Touring Road Events (TRE) which do not have a "closed road section" ot Touring Assemblies. I didn't think cages where road legal, it's a catch 22, because once your caged then you also need seat and belts. All of these have a time limit and need replacing once the expiry dates arrives. FWIW MOM
