  1. No think I'm going to go standard L28 at this point.
  2. By the way what fuel were most of the cars running at WTAC? I feel like I could smell E85 everywhere, a kind of weird sweet smell.
  3. I had a block sonic tested, which is the only really reliable way to know I think. Unfortunately the block I had tested is only good for a 1mm overbore. I may still do that because I'm only going for a standard rebuild at this point.
  4. Hi Dimitri, TM-1081ZB(S) appears to be the same (if maybe a little different internally?) - based on these links it appears to have the antenna switch at the right hand side. Is that what your 1 looks like? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Datsun-240Z-AM-Seek-Scan-Radio-70-71-Use-YOUR-Faceplate-Knobs-Save-Big-OEM-/251674148800 http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/38124-oem-z-radio-questione.html This is what the later 71-73 radio looks like for comparison. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Datsun-240Z-AM-FM-Radio-70-73-Restored-OEM-Stunning-/291264696465 Early ones can be found but seems I'm not the only person who wants 1. I am trying to keep the car as OEM as possible. I will likely install a modern head unit somewhere out of sight like under the glove box etc.. I don't really want to use it for sound, more for keeping the interior looking correct.
  5. Perhaps photos of aforementioned bonnet would help? I think the challenge with bonnets is that many of these cars have had minor front end taps, so finding an accident free - undamaged bonnet is hard.
  6. 240K Coupe in Japan. Nissan Skyline GT ES - 1977. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r118990374 Sold for around $41 K AUD.
  7. Sadly got outbid on this 1 the other day. http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w112939564 $150 for a non-working radio. I would have paid more too, but got outbid at the last few mins.
  8. I asked the female owner of the DR30 skyline next to you if you were about, she said you had gone off and I waited a little but was probably getting sun burnt so didn't want to hang around in the sun too long.
  9. Old eBay ad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-260z-/171432695046
  10. Safari Gold 240z on eBay in the US of A. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-DATSUN-240Z-FULLY-RESTORED-NUMBERS-MATCHING-GREAT-CONDITION-/201196653430 Buy It Now $38.5K
  11. I didn't see Smokey, but I did see Isami Amemiya that's what photo #3 and #4 were about. I wasn't sure if I could enter the pits at that stage so I didn't ask for a photo or try to blabber out Jinglish to him. I did see quite a few familiar faces like Andrew Hawkins from MotiveDVD, I didn't get to see Mad Mike anywhere near the Red Bull RX-7 unfortunately, but will definitely go next time and try and make a weekend of it.
  12. Some photos I took. Sadly my phone was low on battery so couldn't take more.
  13. It's ok I used the g/f's login to see the pics. Nice variety of J-tin - a couple of old rotors too. A Mazda R130 Luce is very rare now!
  14. Linky no worky. Anyway to see the photos without Facebook?
  15. / off topic Peter, I'm sure you've seen this? I don't understand what is being said (think it's Dutch) but believe it's a replica based on a real Ferrari (just not the famed GTO). Looks like a lot of fun! /end of off topic.
  16. What are you referring to Peter?
  17. Hey guys anyone here today? Just got here. My phone is 0434 520 498
  18. fuel pump fuse would also do the trick
  19. I was hoping to get 1 a bit cheaper than that. I don't mind if it needs restoration. That's half the fun isn't it? It does look mint though.
  20. Funny these graphs seem to indicate that's right about correct. http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Lookup/4338.0main+features212011-13 LOL.
  21. Sounds good mate.
  22. So just putting this out here for now. No rush at all. Since I think I managed to score an early 'arrow' type antenna I'm continuing the theme and looking for the head unit to suit it, looks like this.. I believe the model code is: TM-1081ZA Looking for 1 in any condition. Working or busted - missing faceplate etc.. it doesn't matter. Ideally you have something that's been sitting in your garage forever and you'd like to see the back of it Would be a good project to tinker with and restore and would look the ducks nuts in my 240z . Reference photo below is HS30 00151 (sister car to #150).
  23. Those are definitely 240z rails. Reference photos of my 240z rails can be found here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14907.msg158712.html#msg158712
  24. Series 6 FD doesn't have a distributor But I could do other things that would be equivalent I guess.
