    Wtb: E88 Efi Head

Suddenly the P90 is out and the E88 EFI is in eh? On the Downunder Datsun's Facebook group there was someone with a bunch of R30 skylines said he might have a couple of spares.
  2. Many manufacturers like to use their history and pedigree to promote new cars. To show a continuation of a heritage / line. Since the S30Z has become such an iconic car, it would be in Nissan's best interest to promote their rich history and preserve that lineage. But I'm not in charge of marketing at Nissan... so...
  3. Point taken, and I agree it's a shame it doesn't show any production figures for S30/HS30/PS30 in Japan. With regard to the HS30's do you know if Nissan made them in batches? Therefore likely that HS30-H had chassis numbers close to each other? Or were they spaced out with regular production of HS30's? I believe there was around 400 HS30-H made, so I'm wondering if there will be a large 400 chassis number gap in the numbers I collect at some point. Although I am trying to collect any HS30's I find in Japan, UK, NZ etc.. for the most part I'm concentrated on the AU market as that's where the bulk of them appear to have gone and where I'm finding most of them so far. You may have mentioned this before but how did HS30 00013 end up in the UK? Since it appears in 1970 you (in the UK) only received HS30 00034 and HS30 00035 to begin with?
  4. Yeah gone from both eBay and Gumtree.
  5. I'm starting to believe the numbers published here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1535-build-nos-the-truth It certainly seems to be holding up based on what I know of the early cars..
  6. HS30 00317 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/6543-is-it-a-69-or-70-hubcaps-seats-and-side-mirrors/ Originally 907 Green. As a side note we got quite a few around the 31X range on record. All appear to have been 907 Green too! 310 314 317 318 Thread also contains photos of HS30 00068 before it was sandblasted... http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13773-early-girl-bingo-with-photos/?p=167588
  7. Makes a lot more sense, as I mentioned in the other thread the chassis numbers are really just an indicator of year, but not a hard and fast rule.
  8. It's in Porsche's interest to be able to do that though! Shows the heritage but also care and commitment they have to their cars, customers and legacy. I kind of wish Nissan would do the same, if there is records (even on paper) they could be converted to an SQL database and with a few simple joins of data you could do the same for S30Z's. That is if the data exists somewhere in a Nissan warehouse... But Nissan have to want to do that, and have to see the value in it. Yeah my friend had a 944, took it in for a service. Porsche in Alexandria quoted $10k of repair work needed to be done... The car was worth about that. Porsche parts and service are expensive. Of course I'm sure if you took a 240z to a Nissan dealer you'd have just ask much fun..
  9. More reading here for those interested. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13437-chassis-number-bingo/
  10. Never owned or driven an old rotary, but always wanted 1. Funny enough the only rotary I've driven is my FD RX-7. I've also been in an RX-8 both of which I imagine are light years away from the earlier cars.
  11. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k234841534 HS30 100594 Translation says: [Car verification data] The first year, 1972 December. Although it appears to be a late 72 Model.
  12. It sounds like an early 1973 model car to me also. Compliance plates from my observation have usually been fitted 2-3 months after build date (closer to 2). For example HS30 00150 compliance plate states 11/70 but build date is close to September 1970 as far as I can tell. I would guess your car would be very late 72 (which might explain lack of later indicators fitted) or very early 73. Does the compliance plate have the same chassis no. on it?* *Could it be from another car?
  13. For those who like to spectate the Silver 73 is on eBay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282282353133?ul_noapp=true
  14. Yeah lol, the rear overriders are on the front bumper and the front ones are on the rear (but upside down)... It does look a bit odd that way.
  15. I would like to have 1 of each year AU delivered car. 70, 71, 72 and 73 model. . But also a PS30, PS30-SB and HS30-H but I'm not fussy haha. A KPGC10, PGC10 or KPGC110 would also be nice. . M10A R100 Coupe, oh... I better stop.
  16. Across the ditch fellas. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-1216282243.htm 1971 Datsun 240z. HS30 01260 L28 055204 Start price: $55,000.00 NZD
  17. General rule.. HS30 XXXXX (5 digits) = 1970/71/72 HS30 XXXXXX (6 digits) = 1973 To clarify further.. HS30 00500 and under is 1970. HS30 00501 and up is 1971 HS30 016XX or around that is end of 1971 builds. I believe a few 72 cars were in the HS30 016XX - 01999 range.. before Nissan jumped to.. HS30 10XXX range which was 1972... Then for 73 they added another digit to push into the 100k range. eg: HS30 10XXXX. This is just my observation.
  18. HS30 101343 just sold recently (lime green 240z) in Victoria. It was a 1973 model. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/15588-240z-for-sale/
  19. For those of you (who are like me) and like seeing early VIN # S30Z's. Check out this thread. Owner appears to be Jim Frederick of Florida. http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=4454 See also: http://suncentralzclub.com/files/Memberz/JimFrederick/JimF.htm Enjoy.
  20. Just came across this again. HLS30 00013 See: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/55998-picture-thread-early-vin-cars/ Having said that the barn find 260z 2+2 from the weekend had coloured hinges. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=185723 So it's difficult to know for certain, personally I like the look of them in the yellow cad finish...
  21. Hey Guys, Anyone (preferably) in Victoria have an L24 block with E31 casting (as opposed to P30) on it? No rush for me, just putting feelers out to see what's knocking about.
  22. I've thought about doing that, but don't feel I'm an expert on these yet.
  23. Yes it's a 260z front guard, you can tell because no AU delivered 240z's had the indicator in the guard. That only came with 74+ models and the 260z. Getting that alignment spot on is a PITA..
  24. The set on the left only have 4 bolts holding the cover on, the set on the right have 5. I'm looking for the ones on the right. Yes prices are crazy, I bought a set of Triples for my red 240z - 10 years ago. Cost me about $1,000 AUD landed.. Which was around $700 USD at the time. Maybe less. A good set of Triple Mikuni's are now $3000+ Sure a set of Weber's, Dellorto's, SK or OER would do, but I want Mikuni's .
  25. Merged.
