d3c0y Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 So when i was visting RWB in Japan i bought a few fan boi items, one of which is this Rear Window sticker: So the question, for those who know what RWB is, do you think sticking it on my zed is too weird? Should i just wait until i buy a 911 to put it on? Alternatively i snagged a free poster too, maybe i should just stick it in a frame with the sticker? Quote
zzzzed Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 A boy like putting chev badges on a holden Quote
dat2kman Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 All i see is "stella artois" Wot, another new racing car builder or summink??? RUF is da hawtness for those Porker knobs Quote
d3c0y Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Come on Jason get with the times RWB has been around for years! A guy called Nakai builds 930 - 993s in small shed in north-east Chiba. He mainly does super wide bodywork and frequently races them. http://www.rwb.jp/rauh_top1.htm RUF is so 90s man Quote
dat2kman Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 RUF is 90's? Noooooo wwwaaaayyyyy! RUF is like wide lapels, paisley shirts and platforms, Tom Selleck style, circa 1970's !!! On the sticker whats written along bottom? The following that Porkers get, is not unlike the following Mk2 Escorts get in dirt rallying. Both are ridicoulously expensive at the top end of performance. There are Escorts in rallying that are costing over $160,000 to prepare. The Porky race brigade are the same, something about Kraut Superiority, but dont mention the war! We need more Datsuns racing and rallying! Quote
zzzzed Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I had never heard of RWB untill I read this. But this just popped up on my face book news feed Quote
d3c0y Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Sekund Entwicklung = The Second Coming You can buy a complete RWB 993 for under $60k in Japan ready to take to the track, not crazy money. Quote
Riceburner Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I'd say yes if it was a rocky auto sticker. RWB might be ok if you had an insane set of wide flares, but it's your car so do what you like with it. It'll probably go too fast for anyone to read anyway Quote
jamo240 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Why would you put a hot-rod Porsche sticker on a Datsun? Wouldn't that make about as much sense as putting VB Commodore "Radial Tuned Suspension" badges on the fenders??!! Jamo Quote
d3c0y Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Well for one, Rocky Auto weren't selling large stickers when i went there. But i did get these: I bought just about everything else they were selling though . And RWB dont just do Porsches. He has done AE86s and S15s too, RWB is a body shop not a tuning shop just for the record. But it does seem clear i just need to save up and buy a 911 to go with my sticker. I have a PowerHouse Amuse sticker on the front and they don't do old zeds, but the now owner is a Fairlady Z nut so i feel justified. Quote
d3c0y Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Haha i was just about post that I haven't had a post yet asking if i was a girl yet lol Quote
Agno Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I could only rep a garage/brand's sticker if I had something of theirs fitted or they worked on my car as it's like an endorsement, but that's just me I guess Quote
PZG302 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I could only rep a garage/brand's sticker if I had something of theirs fitted or they worked on my car as it's like an endorsement, but that's just me I guess Similar, but they have to pay me for a sticker, or at least give me something to make it worth my while on the race cars. And my road cars tend to stay fairly clean with regard to stickers. i used to upset some suppliers who would charge me full retail for bits when I was racing as I would then remove all branding from their products. if I'm paying full price for something generally i won't advertise the brand. d3c0y Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 I get what you are saying but it is really missing the point of these stickers. Its not the same as a Uni filter, SuperCheap Auto or Castrol sticker... Quote
Agno Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Exactly right. Why not have a big powerplay/PMC sticker on the windscreen instead? Give credit where the credit is due! Quote
Veloce Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I think it's about time somebody built an RWB "style" zed, of course you would have to be an ace with fibreglass/carbon fibre moulds Quote
