Sandgroper Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Having sold my 1970 zeds (#117 & #306) years ago (and having purchased several other classic cars) I decided to go back to my favourite car, the 240Z, so I set my sights on several different incarnations, including a specific modified car, a Super Samuri. You hardly ever see these on the open market (unless at auctions) and this car was no different, I managed to aquire the car through a contact who knew the owner was thinking of selling. The car was subject to a recent and superb restoration by a marque specialist, I have uploaded a couple of pictures for you to look at, and will add more over the weekend, the car is being kept in the UK until I fly over for a holiday early in the new year, when it will be shipped back to OZ. dalee Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Nice looking car. One of spike andersons original creations? Quote
Sandgroper Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Nice looking car. One of spike andersons original creations? Yes, this car is reputed to be the 13th car Spike did, all the original invoices from Samuri conversions are still with the car, the last dyno for the car (just after restoration) showed 195 bhp at the rear wheel, so still pretty quick given that the last engine work was done in the late 80's. Sandgroper Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Very cool, and welcome to the club. Thanks Gav Was here quite a few years ago (although hardly a regular contributer then) but have been checking in regularly for the several years I have been without a Z, just to keep up with what is happening and which cars are about for sale. MaygZ Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Welcome Back. I agree - you have something special there. Looks great. Get it out of the UK quick before it rusts into a sludge. Quote
Sandgroper Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Welcome Back. I agree - you have something special there. Looks great. Get it out of the UK quick before it rusts into a sludge. Don't worry, it's in a locked, heated garage and won't even start it's journey here until the UK winter is well and truly over! I imported a Lotus Esprit a while back, it sat at the docks in the under snow for a few weeks, it didn't like that at all, so won't be doing the same with the Z! (Although the Z wouldn't react like the Lotus I'm sure) Quote
dalee Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Lotus Esprit - which version did you bring over. Dad has owned a white S1 from new, used to get droped of at school in it. Dale Quote
