Hi All as the subject suggests I have a 240z rolling chassis that I am looking at getting rid of due to too many projects on the go and I need the space.

The rolling chassis is a 10/72 240z.which has been used for rallying in a previous life so it would be a good base to create a race or rally car. The chassis has been sand blasted, rust repaired, undercoated, and underneath is chassis painted. (black enamel). Although the previous owner used the wrong undercoat and could need to be re-coated.

The car has been strengthened at the chassis rail and rear strut towers and the chassis rails are perfectly straight. The panels have had different levels of things done. Some rust repaired and some still not touched yet. Doors and hatch still have the glass and its good

I am not sure on what it is worth so I have attached some photos and I am open to suggestions and any feedback would be appreciated. If you require further information or photos PM me.

And quite obviously a competition car, did it come with a CAMS logbook? Who owned it, and what events has it done, as per comp record in logbook. What class was it?

The strengthening would have been done prior to using it for comp use.

Any other identifying marks, old rego labels, paint markings?

A few pics of suspension and brakes, interior, etc may help the sale,

Hi dat2kman

Iam not sure of the history as it doens't have a CAMs logbook. I can only go by here say from the previous owner  and that he purchased from a person who had it stored in his shed for years. There is a sponsors signwriting on the bonnet which is Rallyspeed which is a rally car prep company from the late 70s early 80s and an Aussie Bullbars sticker on the front door which i understand are owned by the same person. I can only assume that it was either the propieter or some close to him. The car didn't have a roll cage so I can only assume it was back when no rollcages and CAMS logbooks weren't logged.  which I believe was late 70s.

I should clarify that the roll cage in the photos was installed by the last owner but I removed as it wasn't installed to my satisfaction (hoop mounted on wheel arch). I was intending to used my half cage out of my other Zed and use the front legs from that cage.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Hi Draconis

I am not entirely sure but from feedback it has been suggested that around $1500 is in the ball park but I am open for discussion depending on what other parts are included.

If you would like further informaiton don't hesitate to PM me.

Like you wouldn't believe.

There was a mint black 260z one of the members snapped up for $6,000 or something. Was only on carsales for a few hours.

And a silver 240z in very nice condition for $8,000 a few weeks back that lasted about a day.

Not even any time to think about it!
